Ashes of Creation Shows Off Alpha One! On March 27th, 2020, Ashes of Creation took to Twitch.tv to show off the first look at its Alpha One test which is scheduled to launch soon. A Change of Direction for New World When former ArenaNet lead producer Colin Johanson joined the team at Amazon Game Studios to begin work on New World, many of us were curious as to what it was going to become. We signed up for the beta and waited patiently to see it first hand. About two years ago several of us were invited to join the alpha program and much to our disappointment we learned the game was full loot open pvp. This, in an instant, meant that New World could never be a chapter we could explore. Those of us that stuck out the endless griefing and pking found that Amazon is REALLY good at making games. This game in alpha was more solid than most released titles on the market today. We kept going and kept reporting things we found all the while expressing our dislike for the always-on pvp system that encouraged players to grief one another without any real way to fight back.

Gaiscioch Football Wins 9th League Championship In what was probably the greatest finish to a game to date, it was 4th down with 15 yards to go and less than 20 seconds left on the clock. We were down by 3 and found ourselves in a game-deciding moment. As the QB clock ticked down to its final second I threw a no-look pass to the back right corner of the endzone. Wide receiver Spencer Jacoby jumped into the air and snagged the pass with one hand and managed to keep his toes in bounds. The catch would seal the victory for the Gaiscioch and would lock in their 9th championship in the PortlandFootball.com Flag-Football league. Congratulations to the team for pulling off another championship victory!

2019 Gaiscioch Holiday Party Portland, Oregon - December 14th at 4 PM Pacific For those of you in the Pacific Northwest, I've tried to throw a holiday get together every year around this time of year. This year we've got quite a crowd gathering and we should have a grand ol' time. This year I'm changing the venue from our little hole in the wall pizza joint to a larger pizza joint that has a full play area for kids. We'll be meeting up at Papa's Pizza in Beaverton Oregon at 4 PM. They have a wide range of food from chicken wings to pizza and salads.

In Loving Memory of Sandra "Nona" Starkey (1948-2019) A Legend of our family has moved on. She's on her way to the pearly gates to secure us the best plot. She'll be cooking up some goblin stew for us for sure. Nona was member #5 of our community. She joined us in Dark Age of Camelot at a point when I was simply searching to start my community. She saw me through the darkest times of my life and encouraged me to keep pushing forward. She is the only member of our history to have a significant part in all 5 chapters. She never asked for power or promotions just put it all out there to help others and ensure they're having a good time. She found out that she had stage 4 cancer last year but that didn't stop her. She kept pushing forward, spending time with her friends and family and joining us on many adventures.

Astellia Launches on September 27th A small merry band of Gaiscioch are going to be launching into Astellia on September 27th. It will be a few days before we can get the Guild open but it will be our first priority. Astellia features a massive world to explore free of forced PvP. Collect Astels to join you in fights. Upon reaching level 40 you will be able to begin joining in the 3 realm war over Avalon, a PvP zone where 3 factions fight over crystals and key locations. With each player being able to spawn multiple Astels these battles can be quite massive in size.

PAX WEST is a Go! For those of you heading to Seattle for PAX West 2019 we will be rallying Saturday Night at Fado's Irish Pub from 6 - 8PM PT. Feel free to stop in for a pint and to say hi. This year at PAX West we might even sit on a Panel! I have been working with Garrett Fuller of MMORPG and GameSpace to put together a panel for this year's PAX. In Loving Memory of Jennifer "SonjaDarshan" Peacock (1975-2019) It is with a heavy heart that I report I have received word that Jennifer "SonjaDarshan" Peacock, long time member and mother of two has passed away. She joined us back in 2012 and has played alongside many of you in Guild Wars 2. She was huge help to Nona in her last months and really provided her with some inspiration. She was a loving person who gave it all to the people she loved, sometimes more than they deserved. She always saw the best in all of us.

Well Wishes for Nona and Rhynor Nona, the eldest active member of our community who began playing alongside me in 2002 with her Minotaur transforming hero in Dark Age of Camelot was diagnosed with cancer. The good news is it didn't spread to her brain and they are able to treat it to slow its growth. Nona has been a staple of this community for almost 2 decades and makes it a point to come out to all of our Seattle meetups. Now cancer didn't know what it was getting itself into as Nona is one of the strongest most stubborn women I have ever known in my life. She is made of something else and is nothing but moxy and resilience. Nona has put up a post on the forum to keep us all updated on her status. Feel free to head over and give her some well wishes.
