Like with any organization, the Gaiscioch have a few policies to handle the flow of members coming in and going out of the family.
An ancient Celtic family rule which states that one member of the family shall not turn their blade on their family. Hate and Rage are to be pointed outwardly at the foes invading our lands. Love and Companionship are to be pointed inward at the family. Attacking a member of the family can result in dismissal and will be dealt with swiftly by each family leader.
I will honor the community by acting in a manner that speaks of our kindness, I will refrain from activities that would dishonor the community, and I will honor the requests of the community elders. I will fight my opponents with honor, giving them a fair fight. I will not spawn camp, grief, cheat, or harass my allies or foes. I will encourage them to fight and win my battles with the highest of honors.
I will respect those around me both within the community and outside, I will act in a manner which speaks of our benevolence and kindness, and I will not disrespect the community by engaging in spiteful comments or actions even when provoked.
I will hold our community's integrity close to heart and I realize that my actions directly affect that of the whole community. I will say what I do, and do what I say. I will not fall back on promises or make false claims.
I will meet others with open arms and welcome those who cross our path. I will act in a welcoming way and ensure that those who participate in our events feel welcome whether they are part of the community or not. I will allow my actions to speak of our character, and reserve my words for offering assistance.
Gaiscioch prides itself on being one of the most open and kind communities out there. Many communities of our size have a sour reputation, we do not want to fulfill that expectation. Our reputation is our biggest asset and we ask that our members do not compromise our reputation through toxic behavior, griefing, using offensive language in public channels, creating inappropriate character names, or otherwise conducting themselves in an unbecoming way. We aim to push Hate and Anger out of our community and embrace Benevolence & Kindness. Always take the higher ground.
When asking for help from the Community try to avoid wording your request as such that you are asking someone to do the work for you. A statement such as "Can someone help me with this quest?" is a request; it pushes your objective on others. However, by rewording your statement to "I am organizing a group for this quest, If you are interested let me know." you create an invitation, which pulls members of similar interest to you. Both mean the exact same thing however one expresses that you are looking out for your community and not just for yourself. This in turn will encourage shared adventures. After all, a community is not about you or I, it's about us.
Our community is a casual gaming community and with this we do not tell people how to play, when to play, or how long to play. Our members are free to come and go as they please without the fear of exile or grudges being bore. They can play as much or as little as they like. Smiles are more important than guild tags.
The synergy of a community can turn ugly at any moment. Conversation within the community needs to have clear boundaries to prevent bad blood and hostile attitudes from forming. We ask that all members keep the voice communication and community chat child safe at all times. We have a lot of families that game together and we do not wish to cause heartache. To keep our children safe we require all minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult while using voice communication.
In addition please refrain from discussing religion, politics, and other heated debate prone topics. We do not need unnecessary divides within the community. Trolling is strictly forbidden and falls under the "Blades Out, Not In" Rule and will result in removal from the community.
Please do not use the Marketplace, or Family Vault to fund your gaming experience. We do not seek profits from within the family and at no time should you claim the work of others to turn a profit. This is also considered part of the "Blades Out, Not In"
The Gaiscioch Family is an out of game community that plays games together. We actively rotate our in game rosters removing the players who have been away the longest to invite the players that need invites. This is how we get around small guild size limits. Members who are removed in game can always be reinvited so long as their family standing is good. Simply log-in to the website and click the next to the chapter you wish to rejoin. Being removed does not affect your community standing and you will resume right where you left off.
Please see the Chapter Overview Posts for details on these procedures:
The Gaiscioch Family highly encourages it's members to participate in other guilds and their activities. Our family is community based and that reaches beyond our own circle. Any member that wants to place an alt in another guild or take their main into another guild will retain their membership and rank regardless of how long they are away. Once a member of the family always a member of the family unless they have been banished from the family. We have a strong belief that player satisfaction is more important than the tag above your head.
The Gaiscioch have a long history of being inclusive to the outside community. Guild membership should never be required to participate in our activities and community. Welcome outsiders to join us in whatever we are doing.
The Gaiscioch Family reserves the right to terminate a players membership upon elder review of inappropriate action. Members found violating our credos, causing turmoil to our server community, harassing community members, being rude or disrespectful, or violating our blades out not in rule will be excused from the family permanently. We do not tolerate inappropriate behavior or indecency. This is a family friendly environment and we are here to serve the communities we are part of.
The Gaiscioch has a strict ZERO tolerance policy in place for anyone that breaches NDA or discusses private information about an upcoming or in development title. As a Gaiscioch member you may be exposed to secret projects that nobody can know about. We typically label these as Pioneer Programs. We ask that even if the NDA says that you can share information that you please refrain from speaking about the things you are aiding developers in building. Please do not speak of anything you see, hear, or do in these opportunities. Members who leak information will be warned and added to the no fly list. Members who continuously leak information or refuse the guidance of our family eldership will be reported to the developer and removed from the Gaiscioch Social Gaming Community entirely. Remember that we have a reputation to uphold and for us to be approached for opportunities we have to be a trustworthy community.
