How to know you're causing trouble When they bring out the sledgehammer instead of the flyswatter. We got the attention of the Emperor and the 'A' team. 'Nuff said :D
Fin's Chaos Squad Stands Strong in yet another attack on Anet Servers I am so proud of our comradeship! Despite the whole denial of service off and on from 11 am to about 2:30 pm for Fin's Chaos Squad event, we stuck together. We followed our fearless leader Findan and not only took the fight to the enemy but also defended what was ours...
Findan's Crossing After taking everything on AR, except for their tenaciously defended waypointed Keeps, Findan moved the group over to FC BL. A short time later, the Borderland was completely Blue. After a unanimous vote, this conquered land has been renamed "Findan's Crossing"...
First Time My Network Really Let Me Play Hard So I still don't have fiber in the house, but the fiber to the box down the road allowed me to go in only with minor lag jitters in the bigger fights.
First I was a bit lost and had to retreat to be able to find a transit to get to the right place...
One big Bag farm The scoring system doesn't do justice too the amount of enemies that gave us bags last night, great job too everyone who participated and thanks for coming out.
Non-Veteran Fun Time This was first non-veteran event on new campaign, Blackwater Blade. Solid group of 8 people started heading towards dolmen near south Morrowind gate. I had one thought in my mind "Did Zenimax scale mobs for non-veteran players"...
Dungeon fun when Underleveled (somewhat) This was a fun pick-up Gaiscioch dungeon run. Most of the group was under-leveled (or so it felt), and we did have one Vet with us. Overall a good time as we figured out (or remembered) the mechanics of the different bosses...
Those Anomolies Those Anomalies never saw the likes of us. They saw Magicke leading a team of brave warriors to fight the fight even after the 1.3 update. We had good XP, but we also saw more white loot than before the update...
Opening the Temple of Balthazar It started as a favor for a friend.
It the Obsidian Shards you see. I need them to finish this special project, very hush hush you know. "I don't suppose you small group can help me?"
I think it was something like that...
Great Job This mornings event was a pleasure to run. Everyone was listening, and followed instructions. We had a group of many different levels of experience, but everyone performed as a very experienced, well practiced team...
The Rise and Fall of ET Hills [Fin's Chaos Squad July 24th 2014] The battles had been raging across all fronts that night. Our company of heroes had just completed a successful incursion into enemy territory, completely painting Sorrow's Furnace Borderlands Red. With SoR's secondary Borderland once again secure, our heroes turned their focus to Eredon Terrace...
Zergs can't swim :3 We rule under the waters >:3!
We were outnumbered, until we jumped into the water at bay, and they had to run. When then ported home and started to look for another objectives.
I wish we had the lake back again and more water maps for WvW...
Lipsand Tarn and its tricky Bosses So, this cave in Northwest Cyrodiil has two bosses; Gaston and Marbita. Marbita didn't want to show up for the party, so we kept killing Gaston until Marbita showed up. It worked, and we got lots of XP and cave completion for doing it...
Rayles and Chim Interestingly enough, another guild took Fort Rayles where our Elder Scroll of Chim was. For whatever reason, they kept passing it around to their own guild members. So, I asked why they were playing hand off and not running it back to the Gate where it belonged...
Party in WvW We had a great time out there and we painted the Borderlands Red. Thanks to everyone pulling together to make that happen, and better yet, we held that or close to it, most of the night.
Fin's Chaos Squad WvW July 17th I was only able to join the battle for the last two hours and those two hours where filled with great battles as always!! I have enjoyed this event ever since Findan started it. Yes, he is a newer Commander in WvW and always says he is still learning...
Awesome group... This was dungeon number 6 in a row. 5 Citadel of Flame runs and this Twilight Arbor. This group performed admirably. In Citadel of Flame, path 1 we were able to kill the Acolytes with minimal damage to ourselves...
Darkshade Caverns Run - Part II This tale begins with the call out in guild chat for someone to join in with a noob NB healer to best Darkshade Caverns. The call is answered by a veteran on a crafting toon (@Avaric). Then to further build the team, the guild roster was scoured for someone else of about level 20 in Ebonheart...
I'm Stuck!! Hodor and Company had dreams, perhaps even nightmares of blue last night after our Battle of the Smurfs on Wabbajack with HoL. Oh what fun we have! I confess to never using alt+F4 until yesterday, as for some strange reason I unfortunately became stuck (several times) as if glued to the ground, unable to move...
Boss spawns... I have found out that there only really seems to be 1 active boss in a Cyrodiil dungeon at once. 2 if it has loads of bosses (5 or so). Also, they don't spawn on a rotation, it appears to be random which boss spawns next...
Why wouldn't the bosses spawn?! We traveled to the town of Bruma and defeated its Dremora, along with the Dark Anchor. We completed all 10 quests in the town, and moved on to Toadstool Hollow, where there were 5 bosses to defeat. After killing several of the same respawning bosses over and over, we finally defeated all bosses in the cave, thus getting completion of the area...
Wow I can fight again! This mornings foray into the battlegrounds of Cyrodiil was more like the battles we knew ages ago. The curse of FPS was at long last a thing of the past, allowing our warriors the chance to fight our enemies without evil magic slowing our attacks to the point the enemies could simply walk away...
This is AvA The most fun I have had in AvA to date! Best part is Pookah recorded it so I was able to relive our epic battle at the scroll this morning while I enjoyed my coffee.
Craglorn I heard mention several times during the Anomaly run regarding expanding it into the other available "grind" runs...I wholeheartedly vote in agreement for that! Plenty of fun (and XP!!!) as a group.
a fun night in wabba well I have to say the event was awesome last night..... everyone was in great spirit as we headed on the battlefield.... like to thank everyone as even though my orders wereg sometimes confusing because it seems the map was changing so fast, everyone followed orders to the dime and as we faces larger numbers we often ended surviving, those who were at the bridge with me well I still cant understand how we survived that :) and our flank attack at chalman farm was executed to perfection...
CM Portal Placement Got killed running to final boss, Finden rescued us with portal placement behind barn straight to boss. That Fin is always thinking. Ty
Glen "GARRI" Glen Ross... "A-B-C. A-always, B-be, C-closing. Always be closing! Always be closing!!" ~Blake from Glengarry Glen Ross
If there is one thing that GSCH has, its the ability to fight for what they want and overcome tremendous odds...
Cyrodil! A number of us took a foray into Cyrodil, including me for the first time. After I was helped by the gracious family members to find the correct magic buttons to even ENTER Cyrodil, we raced around from the Morrowind Gates to the Blue Castle Keep...
Wabba Jabba Well I hope everyone had as much fun as I did in this event. We came in and immediately headed to Bleaker's Outpost for a defense. Then ended up taking a resource and then a couple more defenses. We headed north to Dragonclaw and got a couple shards and the Dolmen...
King of the Hill [Fin's Chaos Squad June 26th 2014] Still reeling from the stinging defeat at Kaineng Hills Keep at the hands of our heroes, Devona's Rest decided to take their frustration out on Lake Tower. They were mad. They were angry. Angrier than a nest full of angry hornets being poked at by a stick...
The Capture of Kaineng Hills Keep [Fin's Chaos Squad June 26th 2014] The war had been raging on for hours. Our valiant Squadron of Chaos, numbering around fifteen or so, had won many battles that day. Kaineng Borderlands - affectionately referred to by our Chaos Squad as "Sanctum of Rall, Extension 1" - had been painted a beautiful shade of red...
So. Many. Guards! We conquered the town of Cropsford. Our quests took us to Cracked Wood Cave, where we finished the cave, brutally killed the Goblin boss, and gained a skyshard. While completing quests, we encountered a few area bosses (randomly), WAY too many Guards were respawning in town, and towards the end, we even casually bumped into Casuale and a minion...
The Gate and Kingscrest - Smurfs abound! Just to add a bit to the other story. Four (brave or dumb depending on how you look at it) adventurers, defenders or offenders (let's call them warriors), went on a mission to KingsCrest to prepare a wall for a future attack...
Drakelowe Maddness great fun yesterday, thank you everyone who came out.. our evening started with a rough attempt on kingcrest, as we fought very hard in the keep trying to organise targets and siege things started to come together, sadly with what seemed like NPCs that just weren't dying and well DC showing up, our first attempt of the night turned ugly as DC over ran us with large numbers, the night seem to get a bit bleak as they followed us from resource to resource not giving us any ground...
Another good night Thank you all for coming out to join me in my over night madness.
~Aoibheann Sidhe
I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do...
Conquerers of the Forward Path [TA Dungeon June 23rd 2014] 'Twas dark and stormy the night our intrepid heroes set out to conquer the Twilight Arbor Forward Path, to discover what treasures lay buried within the depths of the eerie dungeon. This particular path had a reputation that preceded it - a reputation of swallowing up unprepared travelers, never to be seen again...
Pookha's Saturday raid at 3pm PST June 21, 2014 Comments re new strategy using group closeness, equilibrium and only healing; we all seemed happy and eager to try something new. Finding the leader is much better since the crown was instituted but when there are many people it is still difficult because of breaking up groups and bugged maps and just so many white chevrons in one place...
Tricks' Stonefall POI We had a great time gathering together in Stonefalls to run some points of interest. This was my first time running with a group in the guild and I had a blast. I thought Tricks did a great job of mapping everything out ahead of time and I did my best to hold back my usual shiny chasing habits lest I become separated from the group...
Well that was fun leading my first PvE event We started out a little late because we had a couple problems getting everyone together. I'm not sure that I have the best laid out path for the event but I decided to do all the POIs first then finish with Crow's wood...
The Capture of Green Briar Tower [Fin's Chaos Squad June 17th 2014] The gate had almost been rammed down when the scout report came in. The enemy had been spotted on a hill in the distance behind our heroes. They had been silently waiting, observing our group of heroes, looking for the opportunity to ambush them inside Green Briar Tower...
