So first off, I want to say that this tutorial may contain possible spoilers if you have the maps from preorder...I thought it might be helpful to show those who haven't gone treasure hunting screenshots of what they are looking for. I know with my first map in beta, I had no idea what to look for as I followed the map.. would there be an X on the ground? a sign? would I be able to move a rock? I am one of those players who does not like to spoil my surprise in-game with guides and such...

Rev Posted a Blog: CoE pre and dungeon
Hey family, Had a great time with other members today in an event, and a dungeon run. First Dee and I opened up CoE with just the two of us. We had some tough battles, but had great fun at each corner of the reactor for the events and the downing of the Inquest Champ in the middle. Then we put out the call for others to join in a CoE path 1 run. Our group of 3 warriors, one engineer and one mesmer made Subject Alpha into a puddle of goo. We also got to watch each other die many times in our underwear as we tried to cross the laser field trap...

In the first beta I played a small Wood Elf. Standing next to a few giant high elves with extremely large proportions, I felt a bit ridiculous. Until I met an other Wood Elf who was even smaller than me. The second beta I participated in I chose to be a Nord. She was tough and rough, but I preferred the smaller Wood Elf. Kooz entertains as well as he leads. Final event-Kooz removes armor. Breaks all spider sacks, leads the spiders around the room while doing stand up comedy. Note- Only 1 by stander was killed in this event.

Four of us were down, only Kooz the dungeon master was up. Hodgins was being battered by Gravelings. Xavier, the Hero of Lion's Arch popped a revive orb. The two of them fought the howling king, against all odds. Eventually they defeated him soundly and the rest of us cheered. Awesome work guys.

Ascalon Catacombs is full of old Ascalonian history. Our group ran it incredibly well. We even killed the Troll. Each boss went down handily because of the excellent teamwork shown by everyone involved. Bears man chipped in on the leadership by explaining the final boss, King Adelbern for us. This group was one of the best I've run with in a long time.

There are many people who focus on the profit motive when they run dungeons. Faster = more dungeons = more loot = less fun. I'm not here to "earn a living." I'm here to have fun. And this is how I have fun. 1. I enjoy the group experience. The social aspect of dungeons is what draws me. 2. Snatching victory from failure. Most of you have been in the guild rush where you turn into a bear and you have to run thru a cave where grawl and the wurms and in the main room where the big wurm. Just stay to the right side of the cave just pasted the big wurm there is a trail that goes down a bit and there is a vet troll there kill the troll and there is a hidden passage in the stone wall and the doorway to the Lair is right there...
