Diella Posted a Blog: Irariele- The tale of a simple hunter
My story starts with the most extraordinary event of my life, that is to say my first death. While most of you would not argue that death is a pretty extraordinary event, many would have cause to ponder why I would start my story with it. Is not death the end of everyone’s story and do not the Fates decree only a single life and death to each mortal. That is true but when the Gods of the Vigil deem to get involved in mortal affairs even the decrees of Fate can be over ruled. The Servants of the Vigil walked among mortals plucking the fruit of the war from the fields like a farmer separating the wheat from the chaff...

Sarosan Posted a Blog: Dealing with the calm before the storm.
As a gamer I've long fell subject to the "waiting game". A new game gets announced, we get teased with content, then we figure out how to best spend our time before we get a chance to play it again on the day of release. Maybe it is because the game itself is really that good and we see it as the second coming come to rescue us from the throws of gaming boredom. Maybe it highlights a bigger issue; boring lives. I consider myself to be pretty lucky to have an awesome girlfriend, who has an awesome son, I have a roof over my head, a stable job, and enough money to at least pay the bills (and play games)...

RustedCrown Posted a Blog: Forever Young
A poorly bound book sits on a table its leather cover worn from years of being taken in and out of a gear bag. Several pages have come loose and look as if they are trying to escape their masters quill. One page has scribbled on it in dark bold letters FOREVER YOUNG. The words stand out as if whoever wrote them had some other meaning for them. As if they were a curse of some kind. One of the other pages that has long since lost its place among the tome reads: The Journal of Devina. This is my journal as I try to piece together the shattered shards of my life...

Majanee Posted a Blog: A little Celtic Wisdom
There are three roads to greatness: To be wise in word, To be wise in deed, and To be wise enough to control ones's own passions. There are three things from which one should never stray: Belief in oneself, Belief in higher self, and Belief in the truth. There are three things that one should never approach: A liar A thief, and A knave. Know that there are three candles that illuminate every darkness: Truth, Nature, and Knowlege.

Athran Posted a Blog: My life with Gaiscioch
I figured this should be be first blog. Gaiscioch is by far the Best guild I've bean in in my entire life, and the one guild I don't see my self leaving due to attacks by other players or lack of activity. Life in this guild is great there are events that gut the guild together forget about ranks and raids this guild shines by the personality of the players and the unity that makes you feel welcome. I personally don't see my self leaving the guild even for a top end raiding guild with perfect times to fit me, I'm happy where I am.

Kadiskas Posted a Blog: A spirit is born
Her face red from working over the fire all day she turns back to the piece of metal that lays upon the anvil. She has strained everyday for weeks since her father told her that she could have her own armor and weaponry to make her chest piece just how she wanted it. With every pound of her hammer she pounds a bit more of herself into it trying to make it perfect in her eyes. Her eyes squint as she pounds her hammer on the corner of her breastplate to get the right curve to it so it will mesh with the rest of it...

Jerich Posted a Guide: Guildwars 2 Inventory and You! - A Guide to Maximizing Inventory in GW2
Note: I posted this originally in the forums, but it was suggested I make it a guide so I am posting it here as well. I hope HTML works in the guide format. I always run out of inventory space in any MMO I play. The main problem is that I love to craft and quest and always have a ton of those items on hand. Here are some things I've found out about GW 2 to help me plan my storage space. Starting Inventory Account 30 shared bank slots Crafting Material / Cooking Material / Mini-Pet Storage...

Marmar Posted a Blog: A Difference of Opinion & Dominion
Avaliana scrolled into the tavern just outside of Quicksilver College. Though not carrying her normal cargo of shipments for Davek the barkeep, she took a free seat and ordered a round of food and drink. There were always some familiar faces at the tavern, but today it was fairly quiet. The summer festivities had everyone out and about. She enjoyed the heat as always, but Avaliana preferred the drier heat of the deserts rather than the humid climate of Silverwood. Listening in to some of what her fellows discussed, Avaliana noticed a common phrase...

Sri Posted a Battle Recap: Third go at Rise of the phoenix
We had another good showing and lucked out with two very helpful and patient PUGS: Deec and Tissat. First boss was one shot. Had a bit of a learning curve personally on the Minis, but with help, we got those down easily. Only had two of the types of rings drop, so one went to runebreak. Mevadio showed me a very good spot to tank should we need that next time. We ended up kiting them. We took on the second boss for the first time. We first tried clustering at one spot but that didn't work after two go's...

Sri Posted a Battle Recap: After the frenzied battle across Ember Isle...
A group of us Roses decided to take up arms for the cause in Ember Isle. We formed a group and laid waste to all the enemies indicated to us. After a couple of hours of doing so, we decided it was time for a break. We took to the beach at Talos Landing and sat there some in the shade of a silk tent and others out in the fine after sun. Sri bought a pack of various liquid refreshments, water, local juice and of course spirits all to share. They relaxed in a easy quiet for a time. LaLa's quirrel and Sri's kitten entertained some...

Sri Posted a Battle Recap: Second Foray into Rise of the Phoenix
We weren't really expecting to lead this one, but since no one else claimed leadership and we nearly had a full ten people from just IR, we decided to give it a go. My Family, Immortal Rose, had been in this place the week before and were more successful than we were Saturday evening. We made about 10 attempts on the first boss, but could not get him past 25%. We also learned a few things: The mini bosses do not spawn till he is dead. We really need to be grouped up on the boss' rear. Could have used a bit more heals to help when our lone bard off to the side got focused on...

Marmar Posted a Blog: Maracken Weekly Trade
Many devout followers of the Vigil converged at Sanctum, deemed the holiest of temples. However around the temple were smaller villages, some for commerce, others for residences. Just outside of Thedeor's Circle sat Avaliana on a bench. Holding a sizable crate on her lap, the High Elf tapped the box nervously. “Where are they? I have some work orders to fill...” she muttered impatiently. “Here's a surprising sight,” said a female voice to Ava's right. “The fire queen sitting still? The dark times must be upon us...

Qai Posted a Guide: Role Play 101: How To Shake the Role Play Blahs
These were originally written while role playing in WoW, but all of the general concepts and advice still very much apply. Even if you've been role playing for years, there are some things in here will likely help you develop even further. While I take no credit for writing this guide, I cannot actually name the person who wrote it. It is a handbook that has been passed around for a little over 9 years now, the authors have changed (or at least user names) many times over. Though I thought it would be good to share for those who do actively or are interested in role playing...
