Jairone Posted a Battle Recap: Long travel times and stupidly low hp pools did not stop Cyrodil dolmen event.
We gave a lot of horses a very good workout, traveling in a circle around the whole Cyrodil map. Sadly, the mobs at the dolmen in Cyrodil are very weak. We had to back off in order to help people get completion. Thank you DeaconGrim and Foviel for stepping up to help lead the second group through the course of the night!

Kaytlin Posted a Battle Recap: Thanks Findan!
Just a note to thank Findan for stepping up and leading when my internet went down. It was an epic defense of Hills in SOR with a three way battle for control of the Lords Room. Twice we beat back the hordes of enemy troops and everyone did a great job. When I disconnected for the second time the battle was still raging.

Briseadh Posted a Battle Recap: Great Event
Despite the issues we had in Stonefalls and Deshaan Jairone handled them well. Birdee stepped up to run a second group so we were two smaller groups to keep us from having as much of an issue plaguing larger groups though we could have filled one full raid. Once in two groups and away from what seemed a little higher populated areas the issues were far less though we still had random disconnects porting. A very good time was had by all and we did get to all the dolmens and if anyone missed a dolmen it was few and as for me, only one of all the Ebonhart Pact due to the lag and disconnects...

Jairone Posted a Battle Recap: Lag plauged Stonefalls and somewhat Deshaan, but dolmen were still destroyed.
There were some definite lag issues while we tried to get going on the dolmen destruction achievement run. I want to thank everybody for not freaking out too much (except myself, who was frantically trying to find some way to make it better) and for sticking with it where applicable. Should anyone need help with Ebonheart area dolmen, feel free to ask! Next week I will be heading toward Cyrodil, and hope to see some of you there!

TernieLaBiscuit Posted a Blog: VR4
I hit VR4 today. I believe with the questing in Craglorn I was able to level up faster. I was at the Hollow Waste Dolmen when I leveled. Took me much less time from VR2 to VR3.

Morigana Posted a Battle Recap: Poohka: The Grinning General
Today was Defense, defense, defense... then supply camps.... then more defense but it is following Poohka that makes it all worth while. I really can't see his face but I imagine that he is grinning with every breath he takes and every command he gives. There is no one I would rather follow into battle and this is not to slight our other commanders as I would follow lots of them into battle with just as much confidence - but he has a way to make me smile even when I die. He reminds me so much of what so many Vikings have said as they charge into battle (at least in the movies they do)...

Jairone Posted a Battle Recap: Osu may have felt ill, and we hope he is feeling better, but the skyshard hunt needed to go on!
In spite of Osu feeling ill, a decent group of adventurous souls ventured into Cyrodil. Together they rode out, slogging through several lakes, exploring caves with far too many undead in them, fighting a giant upon a hilltop, jumping off cliffs as is Gaiscioch tradition! There were a few moments of frustration with lag, that foul beast which appears to snatch people away for a random cup of tea which you must finish before returning, and which may be sized anywhere from a thimble to an entire lake...

Getting the scroll and running along with it, killing a lot of AD who were chasing us. It was refreshing to get so many kills in on AD. :D

Ozolin Posted a Battle Recap: Impromptu Romp Through The Daedra's Hall
Tallar assisted Iriali in conquering the halls of Sanguine's Demesne late Thursday night, banishing the daedric spawn and cleansing the halls of their brutish, fetid presence. Along the way Iriali was able to assist the phantom denizens in re-establishing their hopping hot-spot, while Tallar kept her from perishing beneath more than a few mobs of cursed blades. It was an unexpected, quite thrilling jaunt for the young Dunmer mercenary, and a fine way to make her first acquaintance within her newly found brethren.

Cariance Posted a Battle Recap: Disguises? We don't need no steenking disguises!
Said Ytterin, or at least, that's what I imagine he said as he steamrolled all of the mobs. Good fun and great loot!

TernieLaBiscuit Posted a Blog: VR3
Yesterday, May 27th, I hit VR3. I thought it would take me much longer, but it took exactly 15 days. The enemies are harder, mobs of 3 or more still seem impossible, but the challenge keeps me going. Can't wait to see what VR3 has to offer, and when it's time to hit the enemies of VR4.

Smitty Posted a Battle Recap: Quest for the Holy Tower...
Your friendly neighborhood Smitty here... What a night of fighting in the name of SoR! Smitty's Sabres fought once more and took back SoR BL from HEAVY CD and NSP forces. Several times, three zergs had run headlong into each other. Even though that had larger forces, SoR maintained their presence and fought back two servers a time. Most memorable was not a fight for Gary, Bay or Hills, but for little ole Bluelake Tower. CD attempted to pinch us several times while taking the tower with NSP nipping at everyone's heels...

Balry Posted a Blog: Need Volunteers for Anthropology Thesis Research
Hello Gaiscíoch Family! This is Michael Perez (Balry) a graduate student from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) doing an M.A. thesis on online gaming communities. I am happy to say that my research study entitled "MMO Gaming Culture: An Online Gaming Family" has been FULLY APPROVED by BOTH the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and my thesis committee. This means that now comes the part where I become more active within the community to search for volunteers for the research study. We are looking for adult (at least 18 years of age) Gaiscíoch member volunteers to participate in an anthropological research study (Florida Atlantic University) that aims to determine the elements that make the Gaiscíoch family a successful community and to expand the understanding of the border between the virtual and physical space...
