Ireland's musical soul is rooted in storytelling, yet Celtic mythology rarely finds its place in modern song. That’s something I’ve decided to change. With the help of cutting-edge AI tools, I’ve begun transforming old legends and some of my original tales into song, bringing forgotten myths to life through music. This is more than a creative experiment. It’s a deeply personal journey—and one you won’t want to miss.
Over the past month, I’ve been exploring an AI tool called Suno, which allows you to feed it lyrics, describe the kind of song you envision, and in return, it produces several versions for you to choose from. For someone like me, whose musical ambitions have often hit a wall, this has been nothing short of revolutionary.
You see, I've always tried to find my voice in music. I signed up for drum and violin lessons—both classes were canceled. I joined the choir in middle school, only to be told to lip sync. In college, I took up digital DJing, but the radio station said it “wasn’t real DJing” and pulled my show. Even as a digital illustrator, my art school dismissed my work because it was created with a computer.
But here's what you should know about me:
I was born into a digital frontier.
Before the web had a name, I was building it. Before digital art and music became mainstream, I was experimenting in the unknown. I’ve always lived slightly ahead of the curve—and more often than not, the world catches up.Technology is in my DNA.
I'm a digital explorer. I embrace innovation but keep a critical eye on its implications. Whether it’s AI, VR, or any emerging tech, I approach it with curiosity and caution. All tools—just like people—have the potential for good or harm.
When AI entered my professional world, I took it seriously. And very quickly, I realized it could enable me to do something I could never do on my own: bring my music to life.
I’ve had a book of original songs sitting on a shelf for years—words that were never heard because I lacked the talent, time, or team to make them real. AI has changed that. It gives me the power to tell stories through music, to unearth forgotten myths, and to amplify voices long buried by time.
No, AI won’t replace artists. If anything, it makes great artists even more vital. It empowers creators. It lowers the barriers. It turns solitary scribbles into songs that can touch people worldwide.
To explore this new creative frontier, I’ve begun releasing tracks—some based on my original work, others inspired by Irish folklore, with a little help from ChatGPT and Suno. You can listen to them on my SoundCloud.
I'm building an entire collection of myth-themed tracks for those who want to hear the old stories in a new way. It's a little bit of tech, a little bit of myth—and a whole lot of soul.
