Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: Short Asault
This event was not as long as what we usually run (2 1/2 hrs rather than 4 or 5 hrs), but I just couldn't sit still any longer. Thank you all for your patience with me this week, the side effects from the EMG are starting to wear off, so it will get easier. Don't forget, I won't be able to make my event again this coming Tuesday as I have another Dr's appointment, but I will be back for more fighting on the borderlands next Friday. After that I hope to be back to my normal WvW events for a while...

TernieLaBiscuit Posted a Blog: Things I've done this week
So, this week hasn't really been about grinding. It's been about achievements. * I got General Executioner, killing my last General in The Rift. * I got Anchor Devastator by defeating 250 total dolmens. * I was fortunate enough to join a group and complete Hel Ra Citadel (my first Trial) * I also got to blow the War Horn in Hel Ra (WOO) * I got Writ Upon the Sky, for completing 250 crafting writs. I hope to complete lower Craglorn at some point, as I have The Missing Guardian left of the Celestial Investigation collection...

TernieLaBiscuit Posted a Blog: ESO B2P Summary / Thoughts
I'm not transcribing verbatim, but rather watching the ESO Live Special Edition and commenting on sections as they cover the material. The first 10 minutes was a video of something. What that was, I don't know, but two guys were fighting, the winner walked off then a chick stabbed the loser like it was her finishing move or something. Then comes the reasoning as to why the subscription fee is being removed. It really comes down to the console editions being released. No one was going to pay for a monthly sub on a console, in addition to a sub on a game...

Smitty Posted a Battle Recap: Smitty's Sabres 1/13 - Do the Scooby Doo Shuffle...
ZOINKS, like, hey Sabres, who felt a bit ragged after all the running around we did? I'm exhausted! It totally felt like one of those chase scenes in Scooby Doo with everyone coming in and out the doors chasing each other. We were all over every map, and AR was on our tail, or we were on theirs, or DR decided to make an appearance for a "Very Special Episode" and then was never heard from again! Needless to say, we did our very best to split up and cause as much damage as we could last night...

Aoibheann Posted a Blog: Getting ready for surgery
My apologies for cancelling my WvW event with such short notice today. I received a last minute call from the VA this morning to tell me that they had an opening (someone else cancelled an appointment) for me to have an Electromyogram and a Nerve Conduction Study for late this morning. The results are still unknown to me, but the after effects are rather nasty at the moment. You probably won't see a lot of me in game for the next day or two as I recover from my tests as it is difficult for me to sit in front of the computer for more than 10 - 15 mins at a time...

Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: A very good start to the new event
Well tearing down the Separatist propaganda posters started off the 'Help the people of Ebonhawke' event. After killing the separatists we got to kill the Champion leader before continuing on to complete the Cleaning up the Neighborhood achievenent. Luckily they didn't mind us reading all the history books that they had hidden throughout the town for the Speedy Reader achievement. Sorry for getting us lost in the maze at the Inn. Next week we'll be doing the History Buff achievement that starts off in Lion's Arch & ends in Malchor's Leap where we must locate and read all of the Marriner's plaques...

Marcovius Posted a Battle Recap: Substitute Commanding - Because There Is No Such Thing As a Cancelled WvW Event
Slowly at first, then with growing momentum, my Blue Tag started attracting Rallians and GSCH Warriors to me. We successfully re-claimed our Home BL and smashed the Invaders in a couple of really good small-group fights. We then took the fight to their BL - Borlis Pass. Camps and Towers were easy (well, except for the NW tower - but we went back and took that one too...), but I still have not cracked the code on breaking into upgraded, waypointed, and massively sieged Keeps. We broke thru outer, and had inner down to about 50% - and that's when the heavy Arrow Cart fire started taking its toll...

Smitty Posted a Battle Recap: Smitty's Sabres 1/13 - Okay, who woke the BP baby?
Listen, you all need to keep it down around here. Both BP and SF were asleep quite soundly in their cribs, and Mommy and Daddy SoR had the place to ourselves. But someone had to go and make some noise and it woke BP up. Now, I know we were having a good time, and we were doing quite well, but now BP is making a mess of the place. We have to change their diaper, give them some formula and put them back to bed so Mommy and Daddy SoR can focus on working their way back up the "ladder". :) All kidding aside, the Sabres had their work cut out for them during their run as it seemed that BP managed to find a guild in their ranks to stand up and defend their homeland...

Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: A slow start
With the new content in the game today we didn't have the usual number of players out with us in WvW. So we started out a little slower, taking camps, building golems and bouncing around on all of the maps. Our rallians were trying to help, but they foiled some of our objectives by letting the enemy know where we were on the map. Despite the draw backs, we were able to take Borlis Pass' T3 Garri and keep it paper, and we almost took their Bay as well. We had better luck on Sorrow's Furnace where we took their Bay and Garri and held them for most of the event...

Aoibheann Posted a Blog: New weekly Explorer & JP Achievements
Come join me for new adventures in Tyria! Since GW2 no longer has the monthly achievements, I have discontinued the monthly Puzzle Jumper event. Instead I am going to offer weekly Explorer Achievements as well as Jumping Puzzles that are NOT Mesmer taxi friendly (don't worry, we will still port the jumping impaired where ever possible. I will post each week which achievements we will be doing during the event so you can check to see which ones you need - they are worth 10 points each. I will attempt to do two at a time when ever possible - but the time will be restricted to 90 minutes to a 2 hour run per event so as not to interfere with other scheduled events...

Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: Last call for ornaments
Thank you all for joining me again today for the last official Scavenger Hunt. I have added 5 new Jump Puzzles to this event, plus we got to kill a Champ at the end of our run just before we jumped Tribulation Caverns as a group. Thanks for the extra ports and to Jay for tagging up at the end to lead the group into the port spot for the Coddler's Cove JP. I will be going back to doing the Puzzled Jumpers monthly instead of weekly after today. I will also have a few new puzzles next time around and (keeping my fingers crossed) I hope to have a taxi at the goggles above the Not So Secret JP chest - though it might not be next month, but I am working on it...

BananaPancakes Posted a Battle Recap: Goat, Smitty and Fog walk into a bar....
Today was an absolute blast with taking Fog on a dungeon date. We made it through the dungeon fairly quickly, and Fog even soloed a bit of it since the rest of us were all dying, dead, or taking turns trying not to die while rezzing the others. We came, we laughed, and we killed everything. Great dungeon with good peoples :)

Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: PPT
Sorrow's Furnace finally woke up today and had a large PPT when I logged in, so we went straight for the high points. First hitting all the keeps, then taking the towers, and only camps when we were bored or occasionally out of supply. Since it was reset night, we didn't do any upgrades - but don't get used to that. We had plenty of Golems to march around where needed, thank you to my Mesmers who were porting us. We also had some wonderful open field fights with KN as well as some great keep defenses when they tried, and failed to take back their Garri from us...

Smitty Posted a Battle Recap: Smitty's WvW Reset 1/9 - OMG! NEW PEOPLE! STABBY HUG TIEM!
For the first time in as many weeks, we have new faces to smash with our weapons! And it looks like its a server that has also fallen on hard times... Borlis Pass. Its a welcome change of pace versus Kaineng who moved up a tier. I wonder if they will miss us... Anyway... On to Borlis Pass! The evening was quite fun with a healthy mix of Siege deployment and in keep fighting. Following our usual scheme, we divided up forces every now and then and took down multiple targets successfully...

Marcovius Posted a Battle Recap: A Brave Foray Into PvP
With a few Intrepid Adventurers, we decided to dip our feet into the PvP pool and see how we would do. Well... we had some great fights, and although we didn't win either match we had a lot of fun. We were able to complete a couple of the PvP Daily Achievements, and also forged a PvP small group to meet up again tomorrow and pick up where we left off. The rust is slowly coming off, and I'm confident that we will do much better next time, and the time after that. Thanks, Marcovius

Smitty Posted a Battle Recap: Smitty's Sabres 1/7 - I shall call it... MegaZerg!
I am finding that I like Zerging less and less. It is an exercise in futility that leads to nothing but frustration. Let me explain. The end of my event consisted of 2 attempts on Stonemist and Kaineng's keep. All of them failed despite us having merged multiple smaller groups into a big Zerg. And because Kaineng was able to focus all their numbers on our single zerg, they were able to take us down en masse. It was messy and I could feel my German temper rising. Never a good sign. Luckily it was closer to the end of my event, so maybe I was just tired...

Aoibheann Posted a Battle Recap: Sorry I was late
A great BIG thank you to Marcovius for stepping up, tagging up and leading the charge until I was able to return. We had another great fight night. Kaineng had taken over our borderland and way pointed our keeps, so we took the fight back to their borderland and then cleaned them off our lands. Not only did we have some really good open field fights, but also some excellent (and successful) bunker fighting in the Keeps. What fun it was, see you again next time.... Aoibheann Sidhe

Marcovius Posted a Battle Recap: First *SOLO* Time Commanding!
Thank you very much for joining me in a true trial by fire! I saw that Aoibheann was delayed, so I tagged up and gave it a try. We had success taking camps and towers (sorry I can't claim them yet), but we were not quite able to crack into our Waypointed Keeps. I really appreciated the support and all of the positive feedback - we did what we could with what we had. I filled my bags and I really hope everyone had a good time! Thanks again, Marcovius
