Can't wait for the culling change and the new ranks/advancement system. Been wanting to get back into WvW and this is just the push I needed. :)

It could be the push I need, but I remain skeptically optimistic.
I will say this, though: If they do not fix whatever it was they did the last patch, especially to PVE "culling", then my days with this game are numbered. I'm willing to forgive the lack of thoughtful design in other areas, even forgive for them throwing the Legendary precursors on a RNG loot table, instead of a fun epic quest line (consequently driving my OCD nuts with the one thing that I can't attain through sheer determination of will...), but the one thing that will run me away from this game, or any game, is the crap performance of my game client.
I have 18 MMO games installed (Betas, release, etc). They all run great, even on higher than recommended settings... except GW2. So yes Anet, it is you, not me.
edit: of note, when the game released, I remember myself and some friends commenting on how smoothly the client ran, as compared to some other games we'd been playing. Its been downhill since then, and just keeps getting worse.

This update is a very mixed bag for me. The following is my opinion based on my experiences in DAoC and WAR - the WvW ranking and skill system is completely unecessary and possibly quite harmful to game balance. I'm sorry to see ArenaNet taking GW2 in this direction being that currently it's the most balanced PvP MMO I've ever played. This will only work to give the hardcore WvW players that much more advantage over casual players. And I agree with Sekk, I really hope this removal of WvW culling also reverses the last culling patch to PvE. Watching friendly players constantly appear and disappear from my screen during a guild event kills my enjoyment of the game. I can't explain exactly why it bugs me so badly, but it does.
I cannot wait to test this more. Right now, I can be (& see) in a medium size battle without having my system lag out.
I dunno - I understand the balance concerns, but on the other hand - I really need some sort of meta progression, even if it is mainly cosmetic and titles. Notes on WvW ranks: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/world-vs-world-introducing-world-ranks-and-more/
WOW I figured this would have been patched months back: Catapult damage no longer affects rams through gates. I think I may now wait another 6 months till they have true WVW update.
What an awesome patch! Yea, it's a bit late coming.. but it's here so... hooray! Really glad there are some leaderboards and ranks now.
