Rowin Posted a Blog: Is the family interested in playing SWTOR?
Hello to all,
I probably won't be remembered but I spent some time playing with the Family on Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. I will be playing SWTOR when it comes out this fall and I was curious if gaiscioch will be participating. I will constantly log in for the next couple weeks to see if any new pops up about this, but it seems the family is playing RIFT. But there is always hope!

Jairone Posted a Blog: The cooking nerd presents: Muenster Pie!
Hello! For those of you who do not know, I cook. I cook a lot. Well, I like to cook a lot, but try to tone it down since I don't have a handy helpful group of mouths living with me to eat said cooking.
For my first entry, I am going to discuss a personal creation. This is my own recipe, and I hope that it will be used in a few more kitchens! I've never had anyone who didn't like this dish (although a few people who don't like, but aren't allergic to, mushrooms didn't know that I included them!) *Smiles wickedly* They never noticed anyway...

Elth Posted a Guide: The Skald: How to be a Melee bard
The Skald - Melee Bard
This is a quick guide for those of you that want to try a more challenging Bard experience.
The main point of this build is to combine the Deadly Dance ability from Bladedancer with the healing power of Cadence effectively doubling your healing power compared to that of a regular 51 point bard.
The Build
http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MpcV.Vc.Vcboiqskqz.VV0A0c
Rotation:
Riff > Deadly Strike
Cadence > Cadence > Annihilate
Cadence > Power Chord > Deadly Dance
Cadence > Cadence > Cadence Deadly Dance (Repeat until Riff is off cooldown or Annihilate needs Refresh)
Pros:
- One Cadence will heal better than a 5cp Coda of Restoration with Deadly Dance buff...

Ysela Posted a Guide: A Guide To Rift Combat Macros
The system for macros in Rift is one of the most robust I've ever encountered, however if you're unfamiliar with it's design than you could be seriously missing out on a lot of fun and utility in your gameplay.
Now I'll be discussing detailed combat related macros not simple chat or emote type macros but here's a simple example of a very basic chat macro:
/g Hello guild!
This would tell the "macro" to say "Hello guild!" in guild chat (/g).
Now that's one easy example but Rift's system is designed to work very well with combat skills as well...

Sionn Posted a Blog: Irish Gaelic Pronunciation Guide: Consonants
After the birth of our daughter my wife and I wanted her to know both her Irish and American roots. My grilfriend is from County Wicklow, Ireland and was fluent in Gaelic as a child. It seemed like a good idea to introduce our daughter and myself to the language as well.
Gaiscioch being an Irish guild I thought I would create a simple pronunciation guilde to help our memeber with names and words that fit our theme and lore. This will not only help our members but also help me learn the language as well! So lets begin...

Keiyen Posted a Blog: Journal Entry Two
I have actually managed to leave Sanctum for a little while. I have enjoyed hanging out with some fellow guildies lately. Ansley always is such a delight to sit and chat with over some fresh coffee. Icyheart is simply to much fun for words! Hide and seek through the forests of Silverwood wouldn't have been as much fun with anyone else. I have also met a new friend last night, She is very interesting. I enjoyed picking fun at her last evening.
I think tomorrow I will head back into Moonshade Highlands...

Sea Posted a Blog: Family Found ... cont.
She asked me if I had a guild here and I explained that I had met up with some friends but they were leaving and I was looking for one. She immediately told me that I would be welcome in her family of Gaiscioch. I was shocked could it be that my best friend was in the family that I was searching to find out about my Sister Searobin.
I asked Asesina who is your leader? She replied one of the best leaders you would ever want to follow and that his name was Foghladha. I cried he is the one I have been searching for...

Caelee Posted a Blog: A Deal with the Defiant - Part 3
And now, the conclusion of the Telara Saga event. Foghladha gives his speech to the Defiant. The following photos document some memorable moments from that speech.
"The Dragon Cult conspired this war as a distraction, to buy more time. Every moment we fight, the ward that protects our way of life grows weaker.":
"It is only in our darkest moment that we posess the most potential to shine! Tonight Telara finds itself in its darkest hour!":
Those that are gathered listen intently as Foghladha brings the speech to a close:
A deal is made for cooperation as Guardian and Defiant move forward "together as one united Telara":

Arlinde Posted a Blog: The Ascension of Belrain Stormbow
Belrain had no idea how long had passed since the blackness engulfed him and the others. He seemed alone now, wrapped in a soft, warm light and mist.
Out of the mist, a light began to grow in brightness. And though near blinding in intensity, Belrain felt his gaze drawn to it, and comfortable looking upon it. Out of the light, a figure emerged. A woman, radiant and splendorous, so far surpassing the beauty of his own wife, or his beloved homeland Queen, Lady Alustriel Silverymoon, that he immediately fell to one knee and his mind came upon one thought...

Arlinde Posted a Blog: The Arrival in Silverwood
In the fields of Silverwood, no one noticed the transparent form that appeared on the ground beneath an elder yew tree. There was no witness to the sparks of light encompassing the being, how the form appeared to fill with liquid color from the center outward, or how it somehow shined like quicksilver had been poured into it as if a mold. Nor how it then became solid, and whole.
Light. Burning, penetrating light. Belrain knew his eyes were closed, yet felt as if he were looking directly into the sun...

Arlinde Posted a Blog: Farewell, Hibernia
"Again! As one!", the Firbolg bellowed, and the Hibernians beside him surged forward. The fortified war ram crashed into the heavy wooden gate before them. The tower was close to being breached, and still there was no sign of resistance. One could only imagine the Captain's terror, as he now stood alone at the top to defend the outpost, his defenders long since dispatched by the attacking Hibernians.
Shielding themselves from the tower parapet, a celtic druid and elven ranger kept watch for incoming defenders or marauders...

Niira Posted a Blog: The Story of Talist Cont.
We rode to Sanctum to report what was going on. The city was in arms. There had already been several smaller attacks, but nothing like what we had dealt with. I sighed as I climbed the steps into the main part of Sanctum. Sain, Grogin and Faedrin were ahead of us, and I let out a soft sigh. Nioua trotted up next to me, and smiled, speaking softly to me, "Cheer up girl, I don't think he will be TOO mad at you and you DID have backup this time!" She giggled and ran ahead, and I smiled to myself as Siet joined her and the started a conversation with the dwarf Grogin...

Niira Posted a Blog: Background on my characters
So here I will give you a little background on my characters.
Talist
Nainess
Niira
Nioua
Naedi
Siet
Talist is my main, she is a Mathosian female Warrior of the Beastmaster/Paragon/Riftblade spec. She died at age 12, a mere child when her town was over run. She tried in vain to save the other children of her town, but did not succeed. She was the last to die. Sadly, after becoming ascended, she still remembers everything so it has made her very shy, and introverted. The Vigil brought her back as an adult, seeing great promise in her as a warrior with a true heart...
