Olivaie Posted a Guide: Archon: What spec you should be running, and other helpful tips
WHAT TO SPEC IN
51 Archon. Anything below this is unacceptable.
5 Pyro (5 in Ignition) The faster you keep those buffs up, the better. These 5 points are absolutely mandatory as a lot of your spells work as a fire type.
10 In Elementalist. (5 in biting cold, 5 in Elemental Link) This is more for the Damage Reduction. An archon is the squishiest character in any raid, and taking away 300 damage from a 3000k hit might be the difference between life, and everyone losing the auras. That and you'll get stone armor which stacks with Ashen Defense...

Peigra Posted a Blog: Fields of Gold, pt 4
In the annals of weather and its related fields, of county history and FEMA reports that would be gathered in the aftermath, it was simply what would be classified as an F4 tornado.
It touched down just outside of the small town, riding currents of its own making and self destruction over time, reaching down with jealous fingers to the soft soil beneath it and becoming black as its nourishing warmth and density. Fingerling and gypsy dancer showing its length of skirt and parts dreamt of, twining the skies into a mass of green-gray sludge of moisture and wind, there were few who saw its beginnings save those who were wearily looking to the clouds with growing fear and watching the break in the silence...

Peigra Posted a Blog: Fields of Gold, pt 3
"...I'm sorry if that's unsatisfactory, but it's the policy of our company to keep within the stated guidelines of the contract that you signed. It's not within our guidelines nor within our power to keep the market's ups and downs in your favor as far as investments..."
Margaret paused, listening to the client and Garrison, via speaker phone, and frowning despite the earliness of the day and all that needed to be done.
It wasn't the firm's fault that the market had taken a dive the day before due to projected earnings being less than forecast, and Margaret herself had seen overnight successes and afternoon bankruptcies, but the market was unpredictable...

Peigra Posted a Blog: Fields of Gold, pt 2
"She got a what?"
Perhaps it was the grinding gears of the trailers and trucks milling about like chickens (dammed things) and unloading of the horses and all their tack that Margaret hadn't heard Allen the first time. And she made a note to get that niece of Allen's, or whomever claimed her as kith and kin, to start keeping the chickens in line.
Four days of feeding them on a regular basis should have instructed them to keep themselves in one area of the property.
But, no...they had a tendency to roam, to find her best shoes sitting out on the porch at night where she'd neglected to bring them in after sitting on the hanging rocker, discussing figures with Garrison once again into the wee hours of what was eastern time, and barely smoking hour here at Emily's property...

Peigra Posted a Blog: Fields of Gold
This is an old, old story, a first attempt at combining a love of writing & a love of storms together, & it's over 20 years old now & copyrighted, & it's time it was dusted off & shared again
This story is based on a piece of land hubby & I were looking at buying, & sadly had to pass when we were transferred out of KS. The day we saw the land, all 120 acres, a storm blew up, & the "city slicker realtor" who we'd been assigned to started to freak that tornadoes wouldn't be far off (which she was wrong)
It was the whisper that woke Margaret again, the whisper of leather against leather, slick mud trying to grapple with hooves and the power of muscle and skin overcoming the chill of both mud and morning's coming...

Grinos Posted a Blog: Born for Adversity: "Introductions"
My name is Grinos. I am a cleric. I am called to faith. The light is my guide. A guide to what, I have yet to learn. The heart of a warrior is in my blood. My pedigree is that of fighters. Yet somehow, as the firstborn of a faithful and valorous mid-ranking soldier, I have yet to find my satisfaction in bloodlust. I can swing a hammer as well as the next person. I prefer the staff in combat. It reminds me, as I perform my duties in the destruction of life, that I am called to be a guide. As a shepherd must use his staff both to defend and to guide, even so must I guide my younger brethren through the turbulent land that has become Telara...

Sekoto Posted a Battle Recap: The Invasion of Death
It was a normal day for most of us. We were spread out across Telara. Then the wind turned foul and the local Defiant leaders called for aid. From our family came Fearghas, Fireburst, Alamathea, Exergonic, and lastly myself who came to their aid. Fifteen of us rode to battle against the deathless invasion closing rifts as they spawned. If these foes had been mortals we would have struck fear into their souls as we smote all before us. We gathered all two hundred fifty Soulstones which we used to bring to life one of the Defiants greatest machines...

Zivah Posted a Blog: Pyro / Chloro Utility Build
I've had quite a few discussions about my build, so I thought I'd put it up for everyone to see. I've tried many of the popular mage builds. I have a whole soul tree where I test out the latest flavor of the month. I leveled as a necrolock (with a dash of chloro) and I'm using my 51 point chloro build frequently now for dungeon and raid heals, but this is my trusty standby. It's got the best of both worlds in my opinion.

Lyrissa Posted a Guide: Mages - How to do it...
I've seen a boatload of (thankfully nonguild) mages put out ridiculously poor numbers for heals, for single target dps, or for AoE dps. I've been doing good damage, good heals, and good support for quite a while, occasionally "out dpsing" higher geared mages with similar builds, because I know my rotations & research my specs. Since I've seen a few family members asking for assistance on specs, I'm going to post up a guide here. :)
I'll note a few things first.
Get used to changing specs...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Cock Fight Gambles for the Magic Ticket
In Shimmersand there is an NPC named Marsh Prodem that spawns on occasion and only stays for a short period of time. This guy opens up quest line for you that I had fun getting into.
The big secret to this is you really need a healer like a cleric. I say this because finding this NPC will allow you to gamble on the Cock fights. If you choose the winner of the cock fights then you will gain a Magic Ticket.
First if you find him speak to him and tell him you want to place your bet. Over to the side after you talk to him you will see a 2 colord jar looking things that sparkle, once you choose your color you have placed your bet...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Rise of the Phoenix Ereandorn Strategy
This boss is not a Hammerknell boss but since there is no Rise of the Phoenix Guilds area then I am posting it here. I can move it when this is fixed. I posted it here since this raid is Hammerknell level.
Ereandorn is the first boss in Rise of the Phoenix. Before he appears you must go through three phases of trash. The first two phases are pretty simple Tank and spank and AOE the mobs down.
The Third round of trash is two dragons that come out, These Two dragons have two major things to know about them...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Immovable Warrior Spec
By Humpy
This spec is one that I designed off the 1.6 patch, It has nice features to it and I use it quite often specially on a fight where I take a high amount of damage.
For Instance in Deep Strike Mines, Caretaker Arcanis has an achievement to kill the boss without killing any of the adds. On this fight I used this spec because this spec gives you the ability Bend like the Reed. Also Bend like the Reed has only a 1 minute cooldown.
When I use this Bend Like The Reed in this spec as a tank it gives me an aditional 75% chance to parry and brings my total parry up to about 90% chance to parry in the gear I currently have...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Cinderstorm Puzzle
To call Cinderstorm to fight him you have two choices. One of these choices is to solve the puzzle in the room yourself or you can use the NPC that was comes out of the cage.
If you solve the puzzle yourself, after Cinderstorm is dead a chest will appear in the back of the room. This chest will give you a Potions Cache. The reason why you can do this mainly is because the Potions Cache has a chance of dropping a rare companion. This companion only drops from the Potion Cache's your recieve in Caducius Rise...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Prince Hylas Strategy
Prince Hylas
Prince Hylas is a two phased fight. This fight I suggest a you use 4 tanks for this fight.
When it comes to this fight it is a big heal intensive fight so it is really good to have around 8 or 9 healer/support and around 7 or 8 DPS.
For the first Phase the boss will spawn 3 adds each of which resemble a previous boss. Duke Letareus, Infiltrator Johlen and Oracle Aleria. When you pull prince Hylas you will have about 15 seconds to DPS the boss before the first add spawns. The first to spawn is Duke Letareus, the tank who picks up Duke letareus needs to keep an eye out for a green pool because this is where he will spawn...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Best found Warrior DPS spec and Macros
This is a spec that I use and many warriors use similar. It is a 2 handed paragon spec based highly off the ability Rising Waterfall.
This spec has great single target and AOE capability and also has a good decent amount of Ranged damage that I have managed to pull at least 800 DPS at ranged for my gear level. But as a warrior that isn't really too bad.
http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1cukL.iet00AucM.EhszV0b00z.b
The spec has a lot to do with the buffs you use for the kind of damage you are doing
List of Buffs:
Focus of Body - Increases strength by 40
Storm Blade - Adds a little extra damage
Way of the Mountain - Makes you Immune to knock backs and also makes you immune to the damage that knock back abilities cause, also increases the damage of followup attacks such as Rising Waterfall by 30%
Way of the River - Increases Crit my 3%
Way of the Wind - Not Important
Slayer's Bearing - Increases Critical Strike Damage by 15%
Soldier's Bearing - Not Important
Way of the wind, and Soldier's Bearing will not be used at all so you can leave them off your buff bar if you please...

This is the story of Poor Tom, the Cursed. How Tom and Fionasinna fell in love and how they became to be as they are now. The story will be made of many parts so keep checking back for more!
Part 1
I know I shouldn't blame myself for what happened, but sometimes I can't help thinking that if I had just done something different that day. If I would have tried harder that day then things could've been different today.
I was 19 at the time. Fionasinna and I had been best friends since we were five years old and we'd been dating for about a year...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Oracle Aleria Strategy
This boss fight is made up of two phases and can be very easy. This boss is not a DPS check but more of a fight that you have to pay attention, but the boss does still have an enrage timer.
Phase 1
During phase 1 there are 2 adds along side the boss who need to be split up. One of these bosses who we will be marking as number 1 who is on the right of the boss is boss best suited for melee. this boss will be pulled over to the hedge to the right of the boss. The other add is one best suited for ranged due to this boss does AOE attacks...

Humpy Posted a Guide: Infiltrator Johlen strategy
This Strategy is for Johlen.
First we start off by spreading the ranged and healers out around the room away from the Melee and tanks, doing this makes it so the Minimum amount of people must move during the Pushing Bombs.
The Ranged Rogues in the fight will need to spam there AOE ability's during these bombs to blow them up as soon as possible to reduce the chances of the bombs to blow people across the room and into the whisps.
The healers will be in place for the remainder of the fight and will not need to move through any phase except to move out of the bombs, when moving out of the bombs they will move back torward the tree...
