Secrets of the Obscure Launches on August 22nd
A new chapter unfolds in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, the fourth expansion for the award-winning MMORPG Guild Wars 2. May 2023 In Search for Epic Adventure
Over the past month, our adventures have taken us on a massive dragon hunt, a bit of fun in the sands of Silverwastes, and a bounty-hunting expedition. We finished our tour with our event devoted to all the new players of Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 2 Moves to New Content Plan
Over the past month, ArenaNet announced that it plans to move away from the free living world story expansions, to a more accelerated content plan to bring expansions on a much more frequent basis with small content packs included in each expansion. These new expansions will be for a reduced price and include content drops throughout the year.

New Month, New Adventures
Over the past few months, we've focused largely on new player content for our rotation. This month we will resume our full world boss rotation including Tequatl, the Shatterer, and Karka Queen. These high-level bosses offer tremendous rewards and an exciting time for all. In addition, we will take our second WvW event and turn it into the siege of event zones such as Silverwastes, Drizzlewood Coast, or Dragon's End. Our goal will be to rotate through all the areas we need a large group to complete. Come join the fun!

Could Scrying Pool Make Their Return?
ArenaNet teased the next big update to Guild Wars 2 at PAX East this week. In their Visions of the Past: Steel and Fire preview trailer you can catch a glimpse at what appears to be a Scrying Pool. These pools were made famous in the Eye of the North and Heart of the North expansions in the original Guild Wars as a way for players to see past events and play missions they've already completed. While the original Scrying Pool can be found in Guild Wars 2 in the Hall of Monuments it has largely been untouched in the story. With this little tease, we can assume the next step forward is a vision of the past! See what I did there :D.

New Event Lineup
This year I've decided to change things up with my weekly event. For the past couple of years, my events have largely been focused on WvW and quite honestly it's becoming a chore to login and play WvW every week. I thought this year we could use a bit of spice in the lineup. As you guys know I have no legendaries, no world completion, no roller Beetle or Griffin or Skychunk as Kitty would say. There's so much of this game I have yet to explore and it's high time I step out of WvW and explore some of the other areas this wonderful game has to offer. In addition, I'm moving my Guild Wars 2 event back to Monday nights at 6 PM PT as it seems I had a better turnout there. So here's the new format of my event series for each month.

Sanctum of Rall Joins Yaks Bend for the Next 8 Weeks
The new server matchup is out and we're linked with Yaks Bend. The past 8 weeks was pretty rough and I feel bad for any native Fort Aspenwood players that have to endure the constant trolling and fake calls on a permanent basis. I really don't know how they place so highly with a community hell bent on sabotaging itself. Fortunately for us, we only had to deal with it for 8 weeks. Warclaw Pounces onto the Battlefield
This past month ArenaNet launched their first WvW mount called the Warclaw. It is a catlike mount that has the ability to pull down doors using supply and detect hostile invaders. Bri has written a wonderful guide on how to unlock the Warclaw. All you need is the Path of Fire expansion to get started. Join Foghladha on the battlefield Monday Nights or Saturday Late Night for our mixed troops WvW sessions where we organize into foot soldiers and cavalry for optimal movement on the battlefield.

Our Heart Breaks for ArenaNet
Last month also was a terrible month for ArenaNet as they suffered a massive layoff. While their active Guild Wars 2 team was minimally affected, their R&D teams were scrapped and the projects they were developing were sidelined. To show our support and love for the ArenaNet team, we rallied for a nice send off which Briseadh managed to write a nice tribute article about. While things like this usually put a bad taste in people’s mouths about a game, we are hopeful that it will continue to move forward and grow.

The WvW Mount: Warclaw
It has been delayed a week due to the layoffs but it is still planned to make an appearance on March 5th. This mount will allow you to use supply to tug on a door making everyone have their own personal siege weapon. This will mean that door protection will actually be useful again as Catapults will likely decline in usage. This new cat mount will be available to all Path of Fire owners. Allied with Fort Aspenwood
The new pairing has brought us back to Fort Aspenwood. This time the landscape seems much different from the last and there seems to be a bit of a toxicity problem now plaguing the once friendly server. Our first Siege War was plagued with trolling, the lack of support, and overall douchebaggery. I'm really hoping its a fluke and it's not like this all the time. We did have a fun ClubGaiscioch night, but again we couldn't rely on anyone but the SOR folk to join in the fight. Several times we called for help and every time it fell on deaf ears. This 8 weeks is likely to be trying but we'll get through it just like we always have. Sometimes being a Merc can be fun, other times it can be a pain. Let's do our best to keep our open and friendly tone and who knows we might even bring a couple of gems with us when we get re-paired. Keep being awesome people, the few remaining good souls on FA need us.

Great Tyrian Adventure Kicks Off in January
I've got some great news to share! We've completed the construction on the Three Legendaries we will be adding to the Raffle giveaway for the Great Tyrian Adventure. This has allowed us to green light the adventure to launch in January. I am currently hard at work preparing the site for the new season and will throw together a trailer this month. Tentatively, we're looking at starting on Thursday Jan 17th however, I need to get the preparations made so we can have a successful kickoff. But rest assured January is our target date.

Fractal Console Complete
After months of seeing dancing holograms in our Guild Hall, our fractal runners have finally done it. They've raised the obscene number of fractal relics required to create the Fractal Console. This mysterious device allows for such craziness as making our Guild Hall low gravity. It's right next to where you port into the guild hall, so feel free to take it for a spin.

Sanctum of Rall Returns to Tier 1 Briefly
This past week with a #5 rank we managed to get tossed into Tier 1 to see how we stack up. It has been a hard fight and we are behind a bit but not the blowout we expected. I am confident that Tier 2 will be where we will call home with the occasional trip to Tier 1. This is the best possible place we can be. Tier 2 fights are fun and competitive and the trip to Tier 1 every few weeks will keep us humble, make us appreciate the victories where we can get them. I know, I know technically it's over 7 years for us but this month marks the official launch anniversary. Our time in "knitting club" doesn't count. Its amazing to think that we've spent more time in Guild Wars 2 than any other title in the past and we continue to grow and provide entertainment to the masses even 6 years later. Sanctum of Rall is Full
So…. What started as a couple guilds coming over to Sanctum of Rall before the new WvW Alliance system goes live, has turned into a massive amount of people flocking to our server. On reset night triple digit queues have been seen and usually at least 2 battlefields have queues throughout the day. ArenaNet stopped the surge by locking our server to transfers.

Great Tyrian Adventure Season 5 Planning Begins
It's time to start considering the Great Tyrian Adventure battleplan. I will be scheduling a meeting in June to rally the troops and start discussing our plans. If you would like to play a part in this public community event series hosted by our community be sure to get in touch with me and type "+rank PCE" in discord. The Great Tyrian Adventure is planned to kick off in October. We will need to find 5 people who can craft Legendary items (have world completion) for the grand prize pool. We will also be collecting Exotic Weapons and Boxes of Exotic Armor for Prizes. I'm thinking of putting together a team of crafters that can turn materials I send into armor sets based on the current meta. As always weapon / armor skins (gold) are highly sought after and make great donations.

New Pairing on the Way
It's been 8 weeks since our last pairing. This week should be the magical week that we find ourselves paired with a new set of servers. My hope is that we end up in T2-3 and get the heck out of T4. I've found the T4 servers to be highly toxic, usually underpopulated, and filled with naysayers. Likely the reason they ended up in T4 to begin with. I too have felt the burn of this over the past 8 weeks and find myself having to force myself to login each week. I long for the epic battles of T2-3. That seems to be the sweet spot for GW2. So cross those fingers and lets hope we get paired up with a good bunch like Fort Aspenwood or Tarnished Coast. Those guys were fun to play with.
