I need a laptop to run rift. Not an expensive one. One that gets by. My current personal situation would be easier if I had a mobile computer. Any advice (or better links) to a decent computer would be great. I got my kids some toshibas with some nvidia card that plays SIMs, but not sure if it would handle rift. My current computer is like 8 years old, so I am not exactly used to fast frame rates. Something that can take a dungeon and a zone invasion enought to get those purty stones. The cheaper the better.

I am not a tech guy that runs highend computers, but when I want a good deal on a laptop with medicore/fair performance I buy on tigerdirect. Refurbished and such, I've never had a problem with them. Sometimes shipping takes a little longer, 5-10 business days depending on where you live. My last computer I picked up at Wal-Mart because I had to get some stuff done right away when I bought it. Medicore/fair cost me 650 dollars. I could have gotten an i5-i7 processor with decent graphics card on tigerdirect for what I payed. I hope other people post on here to give you more specs than my generic ones.

I was looking at an i5 with a graphics card. I have been told to avoid the HD type for in board graphics. Most have a Radeon care (some ATI). I was wondering which Radeon cards would work best. I really dont want to spring for a laptop to find it doesnt run Rift. http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/892177/Toshiba-Satellite-C855D-S5351-Laptop-Computer/ http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/892969/Toshiba-Satellite-L875D-S7332-Laptop-Computer/ http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+ENVY+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+6GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/6914633.p?id=1218813788799&skuId=6914633#tab=specifications (I have had bad exp with HP laptops) Would anything like this work? My kids have similar Toshibas that run Sims ok. My understanding that that Sims is a surprisingly graphics using game. I dont want to load rift on their laptops and just gum-up or somehow mess up there computers (cause I do not want to be responsible for them). Treaa

I would choose a dual core cpu at a minimum (quad core i5 for best bang vs buck) 6gb ram at a minimum and a vid card that falls into the midrage on the list in the link below. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html

These days, even an 'expensive' laptop is so much cheaper than they used to be, so I'm not sure what your price range is. Anything under a grand? Under $500? I highly recommend the Lenovo Ideapad series, especially when you can catch them on sale. http://lnv.gy/UlkMZ1
