Graphics Card issue

Recently, I replaced my ATI Raedon 5570 HD 1gig DDR3 with an ATI Raedon 6450 HD 2gig DDR3 because my 5570 decided that it was going to melt it's own cooling fan off.

My issue is that even though I upgraded my GPU, my graphics seem to actually be worse! To try and fix this, I uninstalled and reinstalled my ATI Drivers, but that didn't seem to make a difference for Single or Multiplayer games.

My power supply is good for the new card, so that isn't the issue. My Processor is an AMD Athlon II X4 640 Processor with 3.00GHz. My antivirus (Avast!) shows no viruses either.

I'm at a bit of a loss here. Any ideas?

I know next to nothing about ATI and AMD products, but in cases like this, I run various search terms in Bing and see if I can find anything similar. Just make sure to not get sidetracked by other issues that aren't really related to yours.

The only suggestion's I'm getting are things that I've already done, such as updating my drivers.

Well, in general its usually drivers or a lack of power for the card. Beyond that, there's not really any reasonable explanation for why a hardware upgrade would result in lower performance. If worse comes to worse, back up, then wipe and reinstall the OS. Wish I had more, but if the internet doesn't have any resolutions for the problem that you're having, it might be something that you will never find or waste a lot of time trying. That's my sanity check point: "Will troubleshooting and fixing this problem take more time and effort, than a complete OS reinstall will?" If the answer is "Yes", then I back up my stuff and wipe.

After doing a bit more research, it turns out that the 5570 is actually better than the 6450. I don't know why this is. http://www.hwcompare.com/10293/radeon-hd-5570-vs-radeon-hd-6450-oem-1gb/ so it turns out that my upgrade is actually a downgrade. .-.
