Free World Transfers Ending 1/28

The wait is over! Guesting is coming to a world near you with our update on January 28^th!

Before I go into more detail about how it will work and what kinds of restrictions exist, I want to talk about a very important change that will come with the introduction of guesting: free world transfers will no longer be available. With the current restriction of one transfer every 7 days in place, make sure that you will be on the world you intend to play on before January 28^th, because after that date, you’ll have to pay a gem fee to transfer worlds.

Not sure it matters if they are a guest or not... no reason to stigmatize them with an icon. I am just glad the free transfers are ending and people will have to commit to a server, from a wvw pov.

I'm honestly happy for the WvW side alone :P The only problem is we can't get rid of the people we don't like to other servers :P

They might decide to leave on their own, since the option is going to be taken away from them. I'd expect to see a lot of shuffling over the next several weeks, its hard to say where the balances are going to fall. Personally, I think they needed to first give incentives for the top heavy WvW servers to seek out other servers, before they toss in paid transfers, but we'll see what happens. I just think they're about 4 months too late, damage is done.

And they can't get rid of us... Since we are moving up in rank this week I don't expect to see a lot of guilds leaving...

For us, probably not. Hopefully the Tier 1 server guilds will decide to spread out a bit. My guess would be that they won't, but I'm hoping things will spread out a bit. It gets really boring, fighting the same opponents, every single week. Personally I wouldn't mind the random matches we had from before, but instead of 1 day, make them 3 day matches. I was going to post a proposal for a new match sytem design on the official forums, but just haven't gotten around to it.
