Guild Wars 2: Process for getting an in game family invite - Sanctum of Rall Residents Only

Greetings Everyone,

We are making a change to the way we handle invites in Guild Wars 2 to better accomidate the sheer volume of people who are requesting invites. The Process is fairly simple.

Joining the Gaiscioch in GW2:

1. Request to join the family
2. Register to the Gaiscioch using the secret word
3. Login to the Gaiscioch Site
4. Click "Configure Profile"
   
5. Update your Name.#### and Playstyle preference
   
6. Your name will be added into the queue to be invited. If at a later date you need to rejoin for any reason click "Re-Request Invite"
   
7. If all else fails you can use the failsafe method under the Membership drop down on the homepage. Click "Request GW2 Invite".
   
   

We will not be inviting anyone who has not taken the time to fill out the ArenaNet ID field correctly. If at any time you get prompted to re-enter your ArenaNet ID please update it. The elders will be clearing it if it returns as an invalid ID. We will try to get everyone into the family but it may take a few days to recieve your invite. Also be sure to check your Guild's by pressing G and make sure to JOIN and REPRESENT Gaiscioch once you have successfully recieved your invites.

Members who do not log into the website for more than 45 days will be removed from the active roster until they have returned to make room for more people.

As always our goal is to accomidate as many people as we can to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. Anyone who is registered to this site can use it to it's full potential regardless of the guild affiliation. So do not feel you must have [GSCH] above your head to be part of our family.

However if you do not intend to be an active role in our family please free up room for more members. We are really limited in Guild Wars 2 and we need to ensure those who are active have the ability to play with us.

 

Joining The Gaiscioch na Anu

The Gaiscioch na Anu will be used by members who have earned the rank Saighdear or higher. Upon becoming Saighdear an elder will send you an invite into Gaiscioch na Anu. Upon receiving this invite please "Leave Guild" in the main Gaiscioch room to free up space for the next new member.

Saighdears should know our way of life, they should know how to behave and should be shining examples of who a Gaiscioch should aspire to be.  Again if you stop logging into the website for 90 days you will be removed from the active roster pending your return. When and if you return just click the "Re-Request Invite" button.

Only Warlords or Elders should exist in both Gaiscioch and Gaiscioch na Anu. We have a lot of people to fit into our house so please be sure to leave Gaiscioch as soon as you have your Gaiscioch na Anu invite.

 

PLEASE NOTE: Gaiscioch membership in-game is limited to those who call the Sanctum of Rall Server home. Those found on other servers will be removed from the active roster to make room for those on Sanctum of Rall.

I had all this done and my character had been in Gaiscioch since the early access but went with my daughter to Disneyland over the long weekend and came back and was no longer in the guild. I've done the "re-request invite" but not sure why I was kicked out. I'm a lowly Treubh since, although I joined while in Rift I never did that much in that game with the guild since my higher level characters were on a different server and even after transferring they were Defiant and never got a guild invite. Anyway I'm a sad puppy right now wondering what I did wrong to get kicked.

I added my ArenaNet ID almost a week ago, and it went right to the claim character step. This seemed to cause my 3rd step to be in the status of invited, while I was hopefully checking the guild menu in game everyday but never found any.... So... I clicked "re-request invite". Hope I will not miss it this time.

Greetings Kenny, This weekend we moved those of you who were in Gaiscioch na Rall into Gaiscioch being they fixed the invite issues. We gave everyone the weekend to move over and we cleaned the guild out last night to remove duplicates. If you need an invite just click "Request Re-Invite" on the homepage (Under Mini-Profile) and It will add you to the queue to be invited. You haven't been kicked just moved. It's all good.

Moving forward, as the Guild seems to grow initially in GW2... The Guild invite process seems to be a bit cumbersome and sometimes confusing for those not initiated to the Guild web page and the guild structure in GW2. I know of quite a few former guild mates that have been moving with us through our gaming journey from DAOC to Warhammer, now GW2 that would like to join the guild and hang out with us, experienced Gaming Players, who are resisting the joining process just because it appears to take a long time and is confusing, which it should be neither. That said, I would suggest that we may want to rethink how we are doing guild invites, as we may be missing a good amount of veteran gaming prospects because of the laborious process. Just my 2 cents. As always, Good hunting.

Congo, I understand it takes some work to setup. Really it takes filling out step 1. I've placed step 1 and 2 on the same page for ease of use. Only reason there separated is if people used the old method of editing their profile it would notify them to fill out part 2. Part 3 is for people who need a reinvite or haven't made it in because of the various guild bugs and step 4 is cosmetic for your own enjoyment. Step 1 will get you into the family plain and simple. Its right on the homepage. I can't really make it any easier. The reason we force people to enter their arenanet id before they get an invite is because retail copy purchases change the number after your name from prelaunch to launch. If we don't have the correct info here if you try to order. From the marketplace you order could end upin another persons hands. Even a person on another server. Imagine ordering the greatsword of doom for 20000 contribution points which costs a crafter 25 gold to make getting sent to some dude on sorrows furnace with the same name. Its absolutely critical that we have the correct information. This process also reinforces the iniative check of our members. If your lazy you won't go far in the family. Were built that way for a reason. I'm not going to reward lazyness. its 1 button on the homepage. You have to fill in 1 form field. If that's to hard I'm sorry. We do what we have to do and for us to run smoothly it is imperative that the arenaid is correct.

Hello All! New member here. I just received my e-mail invite over the weekend & followed those directions to update my arena net ID & playstyle on this website, also downloaded Raidcall & updated my profile there. I was out of town this past weekend & didn't get a chance to play since receiving the invite - but next time I get on do I need to find a Gaiscioch member to get a guild invite in GW2, or do I just need to press 'G' and make sure to JOIN and REPRESENT Gaiscioch once I'm on? Thanks for the invte & I'm looking forward to our adventures together!

I like the setup. It is all on one page. I hope it sends me the invite soon.

Pepsi if you don't have an invite click request reinvite. We've been sending out invites as soon as they pop up. For those that have requested them you should find an invitation to join on your guild interface "press g". As long as your arenanet id is right everything should work out.

Fog, I was mainly speaking of people that I know, like me, who don't know much about web pages and such, and are not initiated to the layout or mechanisms of our guild web page. A foray into a new intricately styled web page can be daunting to the uninitiated. Also, I would not in any circumstance refer to them as lazy; they have been great, participating, productive guild-mates of mine for many years, since DAOC beta. I was just commenting on the change and the fact that with the change you may be missing out on some great guild members who would be a positive addition to any guild family. Thanks for the reply.

Congo, whether i like it or not. ArenaNet allows multiple users to have the EXACT same name. This means if I go off characters alone you could end up sending marketplace orders to the wrong person on the wrong server. It is because of this that we are REQUIRING the ArenaNet ID for an invite. Plus we spend most of the first couple of days figuring out that when we try to invite people by character name we end up with a ton of people from other servers in our guild and none of the ones we wanted. The ArenaNet ID is the ONLY way to be 100% sure your communicating, inviting, mailing, and grouping with the right person. It's not my limitation it's ArenaNet's. I'm sorry if this makes it more difficult, but I'm doing my best to ensure the enjoyment of everyone and the thought of sending a 10g item to the wrong person really makes me worry.

Fog, Believe me, I do understand the rationale and the potential issues. I just want our guild to have access to some very good members who shy away from this type of access requirement. I will help them through the process as they feel ready to do it. Did not mean to drag this out. Thanks for the patience.

We've moved the cutoff point back to Saighdears as we are nearing capacity on Anu and have more space in the 2 Gaiscioch than we did when we reduced it to Lorgair. The Website will put you where you need to be. Just follow the instructions when the site tells you to do something :)

Well that is disappointing. I just met the requirements last night and was looking forward to being invited into the main guild. So I guess that won't be happening for another month or so with the new cutoff point.

Ursalus, It's not the Main guild, it's a room of our house. You're already in the main guild. Don't look at it as being sub par, you are just as much as part of the family as anyone. If it wasn't for the guild caps we'd all be in 1 room. Once alliances come in it wont matter. We're doing our best to load balance all 3 rooms to allow us to keep bringing people in. We don't have much space left in Anu and if we didn't do something soon we'd have to open a 4th room which causes problems because you can only join 3 guilds so our eldership would not be able to be there with you. We're doing the best we can with the situation at hand. Between the 3 guilds we have 1,256 players. I have 400+ in Gaiscioch, 400+ in Anu, and 300+ in Gaiscíoch. At the rate we're currently going Gaiscíoch will be over 400 by the end of next week. 500 is the cap per guild.

Just to let everyone know. We are only allowing members of Sanctum of Rall to hold a spot within the in game family roster. If we find people with orange server names as their location we will be removing them. We simply do not have the space in our family for people who aren't playing on our server. Thanks!

Khados, just click Request Re-Invite on the homepage on your command center and we'll get you back in. We are only giving spots on our roster to those who are on Sanctum of Rall at this time. We can not control our reputation if we have members on other servers where we don't have eyes, plus with the number of hackings going on it looks bad when members go to a different server. We don't know if their account has been compromised and with our vaults being open to all it would be very easy to clean them out and move them to a different server. In addition we want to ensure that we have enough space for those who want to play on our server to be a part of the family. If all our slots are taken by people who play on other servers then we have none to give for those local to Sanctum of Rall. There is a multitude of reasons why we are not allowing off server guild members in game. I understand you may want to play with friends on other servers and we are happy to send you a reinvite when you come back to ours. Just click "Request Re-invite" and the next elder will get you back in. Think of it like a house. If you walk out the front door to go to the mall make sure to lockup before you leave. When you come home you just knock on the door and we let you in. Once family always family.

Again, It seems like not a lot of people are reading what I write so i'll bump it again. IF YOU ARE NOT ON SANCTUM OF RALL YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE ACTIVE GUILD ROSTER. When you decide to come back click "Request Reinvite" and we will send you an reinvite. There are numerous reasons why we wont allow an active spot in our roster if you are on another server but most of all it's because if you were hacked the MO is to transfer off server to offload all equipment. If they go to the guild vault we will lose everything. I do not want to have our vaults cleaned out so if an elder sees a person on another server they have been instructed to remove them from the family. IF YOU WANT TO VISIT A FRIEND ON ANOTHER SERVER: Please drop guild before you go and we'll reinvite you when you come back. It's not a "Kick" it's a remove from active Sanctum of Rall roster. People who aren't on our server don't need to be on our roster. Thanks

People who aren't on our server don't need to be on our roster. Thanks Does this also count for when the guesting system is implemented? I plan on visiting Tarnished Coast often to get my RP fix. During guesting, someone like me might only go in for a few hours and come right back, though no matter what SoR will be my home server. It's not a transfer, just a visit. If I log out and come back in, I'll probably be right back in SoR, and I won't be able to go into WvW on that server since it's not my home. It's no issue to me if I have to drop guild so I can guest to another server for a few hours, but then I'd have to do the re-invite process every time I did it when I came back. Seems like more work for the Elders.

I've had my status as "Invite Pending" now for a couple weeks and not received an invite, do you know what is going on with that?

Just sent a re-invite, not sure why I am no longer in na Anu but was on 6 hours ago and was active on site for past few days (claimed a few events). Edit: Ok back in now thanks :)

Just a REMINDER. SANCTUM OF RALL RESIDENTS ONLY! We will remove people who we find are in WvW on other servers.

I have a question. Right now I'm in Na Anu and Na Rall but I still have a request re-invite on the homepage of our website. I have clicked it a couple of times but it always comes back. Is there something else I need to do?

Theres no way for the site to know you've accepted. The request reinvite button should always be there. Make sure your in a main room too. Anu and rall are specialty rooms.

Ok. I'm not in a main room at the moment.
