I didn't think it was my place to say something so I wanted to inform you all. Especially the leaders
but once they see how you all run events I'm sure they will change there minds.

If they want easy mode jade quarry is probibly their best bet. If they want to share in epic battles against far greater foes and pull out wins where they should have lost then they are home right on rall. Fact is you don't make memories for winning battles you should have won, you make memories winning battles you should have lost. For us to cast a shadow of epicness we need foes much greater than ourselves. Its us overcoming them that becomes legend. I look forward to fighting jade quarry.
Well said Fog. It seemed like we were quite outnumbered in all three matches (maybe we have fewer WvW players in our population, or lower population in general?). That said, I had a lot of fun this weekend and experienced several memorable battles.
I here you fog :) But I don't think a beta weekend truly represent what gaiscioch can accomplish in battle/war I was there with you in WH with some of the epic battles. Soon GW2 community will know too.
Well said Fog! The way I see it, we are not trying to be "King of the Mountain" on the guild wars server list. Could we have had better communication with the other groups? Sure, but with out a raid group mechanic in place it's not easy. Plus it was still beta and we were just getting our feet wet to see how it all works. Personally I enjoy the small victories over the "EPIC DOMINATION", and what they seem to forget is all the server match-ups will rotate every so often, to create better matched servers.
There's no place I'd rather be then the underdog. I think we'll be fine. With that said I think lots of guilds have picked their servers from previous beta weekends. So i feel we're a bit outnumbered. I wouldn't mind another strong guild join SoR, so that we have enough people when we're not doing events a few times a week.
well most of them are..... anyway cause first of alot of us dont wv3 the whole time cause they want to save it for the release apart from our events ofc and just evaluate a guild from 3 days on weekend where alot of us work too is just stupid and heck i prefer to have stupid people out of our server and guild .

at least we aren't the ones waiting... i hate waiting. tell them to wait, and that we will bring it soon.
I like the whole David and Goliath scenario. It makes victories that much sweeter. Plus the fellowship is what brings it all together for me no matter what we are doing.
Hmm, rather odd to base performance on BWEs. I barely touched WvW myself. I was testing PvP builds most of the time. Anyways, folks are going to want to be on the winning team. However, where's the fun in that?

Themau, really, there's no reason to start calling people names, especially pulling the immature "retard" line. You personally know "most of them" that you can make that statement? Take a deep breath and relax. We're better than that. I'm sure most of us agree that gauging WvW performance on Beta is not going to give the real picture, but people are people, and people will speculate on anything and everything, founded or not, until release and beyond. We'll show them the real picture on the field after release.
Let them bring it. This BWE I think most of us was using the time to test and explore. Why they gotta hate? =p
At Zashyn yup ofc ur right just bit hot tempt here just makes me mad seeing guys talking about it and speculating allthough one thing ofc is true its the lack of checking the chat when we re all on vent
After seeing what small teams can do vs the zerg with proper strategy/siege I am more then happy to be on the underdog side. Bigger zerg doesnt always mean better chance at winning.
The battles I managed to take part in, we were just having fun and not particularly concerned with the scores. Lets face it, WvWvW is about to become serious business at launch - might as well experiment and have some reckless fun while we could. And fun it was. We defended our borderlands keep (Dreaming Bay, or something similar) for hours, and our foe never made it through the front gate (which wasn't even upgraded). We managed to ninja a tower out from under the nose of two superior forces, by breaking into the back while the defenders and attackers were busy with each other at the front, and then proceeded to defend it against constant, repeated assaults from both enemy forces (Anvil Rock and Sea of Sorrows if memory serves). During this long defence, we even sallied out and repeatedly took the fight to the enemy in spite of their numbers (You couldn't hold Spartan back!) and hunted down most enemy siege long before they could bring it to bear against us. We even fortified the Supply camp between these objectives with an impressive array of siege, though alas, we never got an opportunity to put it to a serious test against the overwhelming numbers on the other side of the wall (though there were no shortage of smaller groups who got a rude surprise trying to take that camp).
The main issue is what Themau pointed out. When everyone is busy in Vent and not speaking to the rest of the server, the rest of the server just thinks you're all AWOL. You may be having fun there inside between yourselves, but the server is not.
gotta agree with fog. winning a battle where your team has 30 people and they have 2 isn't so satisfying as it is a minor nuisance. But having an epic battle where is 60+ people sieging a fully maxed out keep with 60+ defenders in it and capturing the base 5 mins before servers start to reset was indeed a awesome exprience. (reference BWE 2 I believe).
Trust me Iron, I am very vocal in chat when I lead. If you were there for BW2 you'd have seen this. I play ranged classes typically so I can type more than I fight. It's also why I make sure everyone else has better gear than me. I do more typing than fighting.
believe it or not it's one of the things that ticks other leaders off is that Im so vocal.
Where do I sign up to join WvWvW? :)
I am mainly a pve player but I really want to learn how to fight so I can join WvWvW! Currently I am trying to read about and learn combos but really, I learn so much better when I can do it hands-on. Which obviously I cannot do until the game launches. What can I do now to prepare? Will anyone be teaching WvWvW classes?

Hi Mykhayla,
In this thread- WvW guides,Vampiresbane posted some links to a pretty good youtube guide to WvW. I found them very educational before the last beta weekend, which was my first time playing the game.

@ Ironlegionnair - a fair criticism and one that most guilds often fall victim to. Rest assured it will not be the case for us come launch. Gaiscioch made it's mark in Warhammer Online by doing the complete opposite - spreading the guild out among the server populations and guiding PuGs in a coordinated server-wide effort. Have no doubt there will be organised efforts to do so again in GW2.
Thanks for the link Dhonar and Vampiresbane! These will be a great help!
I personally think Jade Quarry will be a repeat of Briarcliff in Rift. I fully expect them to have too many people on their server due to the intention of stacking it. Come early access they will be a shamble because several hundred or a thousand players all wanting to WvW will have to queue up. I'm hoping our Sanctum of Rall server doesn't suffer the same fate too. Better to start slow and build up to something than implode due to stacking with too many people.
Do we know what some of our old foes from WAR like Knights of the White Wolf or Acolytes are up to? Would be fantastic to fight side-by-side with those guys after the year or two we spent learning to respect them as mortal foes.
For what it's worth, we were up during the stress test. Of course for part of that I couldn't talk or group or ... Time will tell. I'm hoping ANet will be smart about getting good match-ups. It will take managing.
