Amicalola had major power surges earlier this week and it blew our wireless router - that will teach me to keep EVERYTHING on a surge protector. We finally went down the mountain today to get a new one and have just got back online.
I am sorry for missing my Jumping Puzzle event on Thursday, I will to get it rescheduled for next week!

Well, at least it was just the wireless router and a few days only to fix. I actually have an UPS due to various issues that included a few years ago needing to rewire our box on the pole due to the breaker burning out.

Well, the power surge blew some parts of my PC as well as the router. So Scott has been working on it all weekend, upgrading my cooloing system and trouble shooting my video cards. The new video card should be here by next Monday.
It also fried three outlets and a light in the living room, hopefully the electricians can get that fixed today so I can get back online.
Yeah, I want to bug you to edit my stuff. HA HA =) Of course, I already stated in a mail to the magazine crew you probably had plenty of work log backed up in the process, let alone dealing with electricians having to come work on things. I know how well we get things done when we have some sort of maintenance guy in the place trying to fix things.
At least things are getting worked out, but sounds like you need some better overall breaker protection for the house in general to flip it off when too much comes at your house, espeically since you had several outlets go too with all these wonky surges.
The electrician was able to find the problem outlets and get us fixed up.
It was a series of huge surges that knocked the whole county off line for about 6 hrs, but we will have to replace all of the surge protectors as they were hit multiple times each.
Scott has worked on my PC for the last week and I can at least use it a little, however, we are still waiting on some parts to come in so I can actually play a game. If you do see me logged into the game, it could be Scott testing my settings.
