So, most of those at Club G last night, missed the comedy-fest at the after party.  I was going to bail, go finish daily and farm some BL keys, but SoS started taking their map back, so I decided to hang around in Hills a bit longer and see what happened.

Hills was the next to last thing that SoS decided to take.  They worked their way around the E side of the map, bypassed Bluelake Tower, and disappeared.  A couple of small groups came to the N gates, but were run off by the couple of defenders we had hanging around.  I was starting to think that JQ was back on the map and giving SoS trouble on the E side, due to the crosses I kept seeing and fighting over Vale camp, but Stonemist was still in our possession and I figured that JQ was still occupied out on the EB map trying to take it.

Then, while standing on the wall, I saw crosses at the N gate of Hills.  I ran up there, and through the edges of the walls (graphic clipping issues) I saw ... 6 golems.  I thought BINGO!$!$!$  Treb time!

A couple of minutes and 6 dead golems later, SoS had called their entire map over to the N door of Hills to DPS it down.  The treb really ruined their day, I think they might have been upset about it.  There were roughly 4-5 of us defending the keep and SoS had to manually take that Reinforced Gate down, from ranged, because I was pounding that door hard with the Treb and just laughing as I watched the golems scrambling about, health bars dropping in chunks as the operators tried to save them.

They failed and I laughed as I saw each one vanish through the wall clipping at the gate.  Fog... defense treb @ gate is just brilliant.  I hope Anet doesn't nerf it, its great for giggles.

So SoS finally beat down the door.  I guess the golems had gotten it down to 40% or so before the treb melted them, but it still took them a while having to range it down.  We retreated to the inner, where a catapult was set up to defend that gate.

It did not go well.  Lightning strikes were uncannily accurate and finished off the catapult quickly, and almost me with it (I verified via combat log what did the damage, it was not "Defender's Lightning Strikes", just "Lightning Strikes").  I assume that they set up some rams, because the gate did go down a lot quicker and I don't think the catapult had time to kill them off.

So, the question of "Is it possible for 5 defenders to fend off 40 attackers?" was definitively answered with a resounding "NO!".  I almost felt like I should take a shower and call the police after the SoS zerg washed over us in the Lord room, even as well bunkered up as it was with siege placements.

SoS paid large for Hills and I had some giggles, so was all worth it.

The night was not yet done.  One Tower still stood, alone.  As it turns out, no siege either, because SoS had wiped the walls on the way by.

Well, there was one arrow cart that they left me.  So Spartan and Foxy eventually joined me in causing as much annoyance to the SoS zerg as we possibly could.  The AC was in a nice spot, I have a neat "button spam" system for arrow carts, and I actually managed to down quite a few SoS players unfortunate to try to beat on the door, and also took out their rams, which apparantly happened to be the last they had.

So they finally managed to get the AC down with AOE splash.  I hopped down to the ground and for the next... oh, half hour or so, Spartan, Foxy and I AOE'd the door, with Spartan popping in and out of the gate to cause his own brand of pain, while the entire SoS zerg had to... yes, you guessed it, once again, manually DPS down a Reinforced Gate.

It was many LOLs. (btw, Mesmer's Feedback is just EPIC when used on a gate for defense)  They finally set up a cat to DPS the wall, we thought we might be able to get it from the Lord room, but it was outside of range.  I tried portal bombing the cat, but AOE blind spam really does ruin a good DPS dump.

Keep in mind, there are just 3 of us.   No defense siege.  There were 30-40 SoS working on that door.

They finally got the door and the wall down, almost simultaneously.  We ran up to the Lord room, where there was... another Arrow Cart.  I hopped on it and laughed as I spammed the "2" key (cripples) and watched the zerg hobbling their way across the bridge towards us.  Rather than kill me, they just knocked me off the edge, so I ran back around the front, while Spartan and Foxy amazingly managed to hold them back at the Lord room for just a couple of minutes.

I ran back in, hit them from behind, just being more annoying than anything and they finally got mad, about 10-15 jumped down and chased me back out the front door.  I ran them around the open gate and hole in wall, like a Benny Hill chase, then they finally took the tower, the guards popped, stunned me and I was again, brutally violated by many SoS and NPC guards.

I waypointed back and thought... man, I really wish I had the machine power to record video, that was one of the most epic defenses I've done, especially with only a couple of other players.  One Guardian, one Elementalist and one Mesmer just really made a simple Tower capture completely miserable for 6-7 groups of opposing players.  LOL

So just remember, the fun doesn't stop when the music stops.  ;)
