Breakdown of Ranger Pets

Alright, I have compiled a list of ranger pets and where you can get them from and at what levels.  I'm not sure if someone else has already done this, if so I'm sorry for stepping on their toes.  I haven't had a chance to verify this yet so please feel free to correct me if any of this is wrong, it's just info that i've collected from other sources.  As for a legend- pets that have a * next to their name mean that they can be found in multiple places.

I found that I really like the krytan darkhound for pvp. He has a howl that roots enemies in place for a little. a charge, and does pretty decent damage.

Thanks for this great list! Well done! And yes, the jellyfish is cool and really cool looking. Now we need to add to your list a column detailing what the special abilities of each are for an aid in choosing. For PvE, I've found the bear to be best as he seems to be way more durable than any of the others. I can solo veteran mobs without much issue. I haven't found a best PvP pet but will definitely try out the hound next run. Thanks for the tip!

Great idea Fraemos, but the post would be HUGE!!! I think I'll leave that part up to someone else ;) Also, I've heard that the Devourerers...(that's an odd word) are pretty good in pvp because of their group poison abilities, but I haven't played pvp at all yet so not sure how valid that is.

I'm thinking just the F2 ability rather than all of the attacks. And no problem. If I can find all the pets I'd be happy to post those abilities.

I will keep you updated as I find more. I am really liking the Ranger class...much more than i thought I would. Mines only lvl 3, but with your guide I got her all the Hoelbrak pets. Polar Bear rocks...self heal on hits sweet.

Krytan Drakehound - Lions Arch - Just North of the Western Ward words

Just a quick question - is the Jaguar - black? Although my definition and description of a Jaguar is a big black cat - not sure if that is Arenanet's description. Thanks. ... and great post. ps. even though I have tried Elem, Necro, Thief, Engineer, and Hunter - Hunter and Engineer are my two favorites. update: I found the jaguar and it is black - I am soooooo happy. It took me a long time searching for them - seems I went the wrong way ( as a guess) and opened up many areas I didn't need to - but loved exploring anyway - and did some events that were a tad over my head so good exp.

I didn't know we could get the golden moas!! This makes me happy. Now if I could only have a black one to add to my collection *sigh* Myk

I've tried finding the golden moas where this says to, but I'm unable to find them and they don't show up as available in your pet window, so they're probably not available at this time.

Once you get a specific type of pet do you "have" him forever?

SamineObeedo, not sure what you are asking. Once you charm a juvenile with "F" the first two slots in your pets window are active and the bottom two are passive. (You can swap between your active pets at level 7). To charm, just find a "Juvenile [pet name]", walk up to it, and hit F, then it's yours. Hope that helps.

The Juvenile Siamoth is at Tark Hall in Rata Sum. Not at Skibo Hall.
