And they continue to spread. http://i.imgur.com/g2zrKDF.jpg
My soon to be 9-year old recently started playing on another account. He is absolutely fascinated by this now. He woke up early this morning to start exploring Brisban Wildlands to see the one reported flickering WP for himself.
He then woke me up...
"Dad they're not just flickering, the vines are touching them."
"What? Oh yeah there's that one in the Skritt area on the map that's all wrapped up. Did you explore that this morning?"
"Skritt? No. Where's that?"
"Middle of the map. Underground. Kind of a weird place, I'll take you there later. So wait...what waypoint are you talking about?"
"I mean the one right at that waypoint to the West of the Metrica Province gate." He means the zone boundary and I was pleased he actually used cardinal directions.
"Wait...there's a vine there now?! There wasn't last night."
"There wasn't?!"
"No!"
"Yeah it's poking the waypoint."
"Like wrapped around it?"
"No it's poking it."
"Poking?"
"Po-king," he says as he demonstrates by jabbing his finger into my ribs.
"GAH! STOP! No more poking!" I plead as I try to defend myself with a barricade of blankets and pillows, but I'm just waking up and he's now on a mission to torment me.
"Stop picking on me," I wail, but it's only his fit of the giggles that finally weaken him and spare me.
Then I demand, "Son of mine! SHOW ME THESE VINES OF WHICH YOU SPEAK!"
I don't have time to actually get out of bed before he runs out, grabs the laptop, and brings it to me (ain't wireless grand) to show the Mirkrise Waypoint with a vine hovering over his character occasionally tapping curiously at the WP making it spark and fizzle.
"Whoa! It is poking at it. Cool."
"Yep, poking!"
So yeah last night they advanced and are getting fresh with even more WPs.

Oh and apparently they're also attracted to Krait artifacts.
