I'll be gone for a short while, because I'm pretty sure my vid card bit the dust. when I start my pc, it makes a single long beep for a couple of seconds and everything starts up fine, but with no image on the screen. I even hear the windows 7 start up theme music, so I know its running fine otherwise. I've plugged my wife's laptop into the monitor and it displays, so I know the monitor is okay. I bought a new monitor cable and nothing changed. I took out the vid card and ram and dusted them and their sockets with compressed air. I reinstalled them and still no luck.
So now I'm having to convince my wife that getting new ram and/or another expensive vid card to deal with this problem is a priority, when it's not really. It's my primary source of entertainment. So, I spent the evening watching my wife's shows instead, while creepily starring at her sitting pretty with her laptop.
My pc...I must haves it...it's my precious! I digress. On a positive note, I re-discovered a great activity called going for a walk. what a great way to clear my mind. Put some headphones on and connect them to my cell phone to listened to music along the way. Ah yes, my cell phone with all my internet stuff on it. Wait a minute...my cellphone...it's my precious...I must...digress again. I'll be gone for a short while. Apparently my pc troubles have uncovered technology dependency issues that should be dealt with in the mean time.
All kidding aside, I'll be back in around two or three weeks. Until then...chive on!
