Greetings Everyone!
For those of you that may be new to the family, there's a bit of history I'd like to share with you first. Our family has been at the center of public community events from the get go. In our past we ran very successful large scale public events in Warhammer Online (Battle for Badlands), RIFT (Telara Saga), and Guild Wars 2 (The Great Tyrian Adventure).
In February of 2013 we launched Season One of the Great Tyrian Adventure which served as a journey across Tyria unlocking skill points, defeating world bosses and completing meta events. The Adventure returned September, 2013 for Season Two with a focus on the widely popular Guild Missions events. Then we went all out. ESO was soon to be launched and we knew that the population would suffer so we decided to go all out. We created the Great Tyrian Adventure: Season Three dubbed Legendary Edition. In this season we ran Missions and Dragons events 4 times a week and gave away 224 exotic or higher items including 7 Legendaries. All in all 1,283 people have attended one of our Great Tyrian Adventure series in Guild Wars 2.
At the end of season three we were unsure what the long term effect of the ESO, ArcheAge, and Wildstar would be. We did not want to plan anything until we saw the effect they would have. Well I'm happy to say that the population has mostly returned with more and more coming back each and every day. With the announcement of Heart of Thorns and the all new Guild System improvement, it has opened the doors for many more adventures to come. So what I would like to start doing is begin planning our Next Great Tyrian Adventure.
To Do List:
- Build a Team of People who want to Spearhead the planning & utilization of our community.
- Find a concept that will draw 100+ people to the field.
- Find incentives to keep people coming back. (Prizes)
- Create the pitch, promote the event, and get vocal.
I would like to begin by locating the team. I need a group of people willing to brainstorm ideas, craft and farm prizes, and we also need to find a few Social Media junkies to be ready to help us get the word out.
