I wanted to give you all a heads up for next Saturday's 9am gathering zerg.
We're headed to Tier 2 - Kessex Hills. It's a level 15-25 zone, so you'll probably want to be at least level 15. You are free to bring a lower level character if you want, but expect to die a lot. On the up side, you'll make great bait! ;)
It's a whole week away, so you've got some time if you want to pad your levels a little if you want.
These are fun, thanks! Note people will want to have at least Iron-quality harvesting tools. I'm going to toss this out as an observation -- I get substantially less crafting materials during these zergs than by hunting with a small group. This is largely cuz I get almost no drops. Same issue with the other PvE zergs - reduced xp, bronze or no credit from events. Metal and wood aren't the bottleneck ingredients; instead, it's the blue-quality drops and cloth scraps that are expensive on the TP. I wonder if there's a way we could do our zergs but maybe with smaller squads moving around the zone. Even if it's just broken in two with one that goes clockwise and another that goes anti-clockwise. Are the other things we could do to make it more lucrative and still fun? Again, lots of fun and much appreciated!
Oh, good call on the Iron Tools. Re your concern about smaller squads, there are two solutions (and I hope we'll get to both soon). First, more PVE events on the calendar per week so folks can spread out in time and space. Or, a second leader during the one saturday event leading half the folks in a different part of the zone (or different zone). Really these amount to the same things... need more leaders!
Awesome. I can't wait for this. I can understand the concern about loot drops and such, as they are a vital part to crafting. If someone is short on drops, i don't mind sharing. This will be my first Guild event and I can't wait. I want to learn as much as I can from everyone. I am already up to level 200 in leatherworking. So for me, its probably going to be just for the comraderie and teamwork (the part I like the most about the guild/family) However. This will be my first event. So, questions I have... (sorry if I seem like a n00b) 1. Are there any pre-requisites to doing this? I have plenty of harvesting tools, I am past level 15. 2. Do we need to venture out to the zones before hand? Im not sure how many of the zones I have been to outside of the story missions. I wont be able to waypoint to certain areas. 3. I've never really been a vocal leader or anything. I normally just run the behind the scenes stuff. But I love helping people, especially people new to the game. So, after I see how the process runs, I wouldn't mind trying to lead a Gathering Zerg, if people are up for it. I don't even know how to start that or have it organized. I'll just be paying attention... 4. These events, do they count towards the claiming points for leadership, and fellowship? (i have a slight a.d.h.d thing there, and my thoughts got jumbled sorry if its confusing)

I'm trying to claim participation in this from 9-10:30, but all I see is the stuff after 12 noon. Did I miss something?
Look for Lakshmi's Crafting Fair. She posted it a little after noon pst when we were done with three hours of roaming the hills. =) Times won't match because she notes what is going on during the event and then posts everything after. So always go by the name and somewhere shortly after the time we finished the gathering zerg part. She usually tells us in Raidcall after when she is done posting and then hosts questions about crafting while those who want to gather in Lion's Arch to do some crafting.

Shanona -- Thanks for the feedback. I'm still a pretty new leader and while I note all the stuff we do on a piece of paper as we finish it, I'm not very good at remembering to note the time yet. I'll try to improve on that. For yesterday's event, I entered victories in the order they occurred. We ran for 3 hours at a pretty steady pace, so if (for example) you attended the first two hours I'd suggest you claim the first 2/3 of events.
