Just curious after the announcement that Gaiscioch's next chapter will be in ESO if anyone will be moving to that when it comes out or even EQNext (one I'm looking forward to)?

I'm interested in ESO but of course it all comes down to the gameplay, so until I experience it first hand, I can't say anything for sure.  Since I'm more interested in PVE than PVP, it will also boil down to what the dungeons and other end-game PVE experiences are like.

As for EQNext, there seems to be little info, and it's so far off that I am unable to really form an opinion right now.

As to what happens to FFXIV when ESO comes out, well, your guess is as good as mine!

I'm going to avoid ESO like the plague. I could not care less about that game. My next one will be Wildstar or ArcheAge once they come out.

I will be playing FF for the pve.  I doubt another game will come out any time soon with the style of raids and instances I like.

I'll almost certainly play both for a bit once they come out.  ESO only gets a look though because of Gaiscioch hosting our 5th chapter there.

Hex, you mentioned the style of instances and raids you like. Could you expand on that? Just curious what it is about the FF style you like.

I was looking forward to ArcheAge, but from what I heard there might not ever be a NA release for some legal issue.

Wildstar I do not know yet till I see how it goes. ESO of course, I miss my RvR style battles.

For anyone who wants to "catch up" on ESO stuff this is their news page starting at the end (aka the beginning): http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/category/art-media/12

ArcheAge didn't blip on my radar.  Saw the name, tried looking some things up about it, and mostly found it wasn't hitting anything for me with the information currently available.

I was planning to check out both Wild Star and TESO, and will likely do so.  Though if TESO is really good and releases before Wild Star that will reduce the chances of Wild Star for me personally.

@ Trinak : I enjoy instanced fixed group raids. I like FFXIV because there is not much trash, just raid boss encounters for the most part.

I am not a fan of open world zergs or pvp raid bosses.  Unless it was Alterac Valley old skool, of course.

I'm looking at ESO still as far as being with the family and I am hoping it is a game that I don't wind up feeling like I have most of it done or figured out in 3 months or less.  So far, I've liked most of the games I played and thanks to family managed to play longer than the content alone would have had me play.  A few things might stop me hopping right on first thing with a spring release because money may be going to something else first that I want to do.  Have a lot of 1st quarter of the year things to work out to determine what I really do when spring hits.  ;)

As for finding a game that hasn't felt conquered as of late in 3 months or less, FFXIV has done that.  Too many things to do.  Too many things to see.  A crafting system I really like that also takes a lot of time if you do all crafts at the same time.  I don't even have a level 50 class in that game yet though my Bard is 40 along with all 8 crafts to the 28-32 range, all the gathering in the 30's, plus several classes in the 13 to 20 range.  And there is STILL MORE TO DO!

Don't mess with Mama Bear, I might hug you too tight. =D

I'm here for the long haul with FFXIV. Been excited for it since SE released their original tech demo for it in 2005:

I certainly have some gripes with the game, but as long as SE keeps adding fun content every 3-6 months, as well as random balance/quality of life patches along the way, it will remain my main PVE MMORPG.

ESO: I will likely play it if Hex really enjoys it, or if the RvR turns out to be a ton of fun with the Gaiscioch. Otherwise, not impressed with the video footage that has been released, and if the final product mimics what's been shown to the press so far, not interested in the slightest.

EQNext: I'm very skeptical (was not a fan of EQ or EQII...actually most Sony games have proven to be very disappointing to me). I want to get excited for it, but I can't shake the feeling that it's going to be yet another letdown from Sony. So while it does look and sound promising from the available promo vids, and concept(s) breakdowns, I'll wait until I get my hands on it to really decide.

Wildstar: Has some cool concepts, and I love the humor in all the available footage/trailers; looking forward to trying it out at launch to see how fun the more-or-less finished product is.

ArcheAge: Been randomly reading tidbits about it for what seems like forever...still happy to try it, but it almost feels like the NA version is vaporware at this point. XD

Camelot Unchained: Has some big shoes to fill! @_@ Hopefully it will live up to, if not surpass, all expectations. Of all the new RvR-touting games that have been "recently" released/still in development, this one may have the greatest chance of being my go-to PVP/RvR game of choice, knowing Mark Jacobs is at the helm.

Other multiplayer games: Purchased Starbound awhile ago - just anxiously waiting on beta/release. Still actively playing Path of Exile and BF4 on the side (when I can spare the time). Will likely pick up Grim Dawn since I loved the Titan Quest series. Lineage Eternal also has my attention (can you tell I like ARPGs?).

@Hex, I have yet to do the raids, but that does sound nice. I'm a fan of less trash to get to the meaty goodness of the boss quicker.

@Gibsauce, I would agree with most of your sentiments. I wasn't really looking much at ESO until Gaiscioch mentioned they were going to it, so now I'm checking it out a bit more. With EQNext I am cautiously optimistic. EQ was my first MMO and I loved it. I've also enjoyed other SOE games (despite their troubles at times). With EQNext I am really excited about the class system and it's possibilities and the possibilities with the AI (if they can pull it all off). While I enjoy FF14's class system I wish it was a little more open/diverse. From what I've seen there is little variety among classes/jobs. I want unique classes (love Path of Exile's system, though that's an ARPG). I think one of my favorite systems was Rift's mix and match soul system. Also, I loved the chloromancer, such a fun and unique healing class.

Yus! Chloromancer was so fun :D

Definitely agree in wishing there was more to the current class/job system. Everything feels very reserved atm, as if Yoshi-P's team played it overly cautious.
I imagine SE doesn't want them to deviate too much from the core roles of each job (defined by the FF universe/lore), but it would still be nice to have a bit more flexibility in our character(s) customization/progression.

I'd love to see them expand the materia system to allow us to meld to any item (with ilevel-based restrictions on socket potential). And further, to allow materia to grant some unique, additional bonuses that are job-specific.
Something like:

PLD Riposte Materia I - "On successful parry: Riposte for X holy damage." With "X" determined by a percentage of your determination.
WHM Haste Materia IV - "While Spell Speed > 425: Regen targets are now granted Haste IV for the duration of the effect."
BRD Job-Fix Materia XI - "While melded: Become an actual Bard..." (i'm not bitter at all) :P

Games currently on my list to try

1. Wildstar

2. ESO

3. Pathfinder Online

4. EQN

5. ArcheAge

I hope for a game I can spend several years in and not game hop all the time.  While its always fun to see the new late great, the most fun I have had is sticking in one MMO for the long haul.

@Jar: I agree, I'm looking for a game for a long haul. One I can develop multiple characters in and enjoy. Perhaps I have to take a short break every now and then, but it feels ok to come back to. I'm really done with game hopping, but I don't think I've found that "one" MMO yet like I did with EverQuest or WoW.

I agree with Phobos list... up to the Battle Bard point.  EQ always had great battle bard classes.

ESO - if RvR turns out to be great, maybe.   Honestly I'd prefer another ES desktop game with a coop mode.

EQNext --honestly I haven't given this much of a look yet since the hoopla about the destuctable world - which screams "gimmicky" to me.   Sony's has such a horrible track record.

Trinak's comment about game hopping was spot on.  I am so pleased to have found a pve game I can stick with for the foreseeable future.  There is still sooooo much for me to do!  AND new raid and super hard mode of ridiculous coming in.  I love the challenges this game presents (as long as it is not Titan...grr!).  I still need to get BTN to 50, finish levelling SCH, SMN and BLM, do my relics on those.  Just not enough time in my gaming week to do all I want to in FFXIV at the moment.  Which is exactly what I was looking for.

If only FFXIV had a lockpicking/Thief support class I would probably be there with you guys.  I'm also sceptical about ESO, from the videos and information I've seen so far, the only thing that looks appealing is the lockpicking, game world and the RvR, the rest of it seems very dated and ordinary.
