"Main class" poll

Now that we've been in-game for a while I thought it'd be interesting to take a poll.  It's short!

1. What is your "main class" (as in, the class you're taking to 50 first)?

2. If it's NOT the class you initially thought it would be, why did you change your mind?

I'll start:

1. Summoner

2. This is one of the classes I thought I'd pick (it was between this and Bard).

I went Bard, and it was my first choice.

Warrior, because they get cookies.

Summoner as well. I started playing an Arcanist on Siren (didn't want to burn out playing multiple instances of the Archer) due to not being able to get onto Excalibur. 32 levels later I'm a Summoner/Weaver/Fisher and really digging it. I originally started playing an Archer on the "X" (Excalibur). I hope to come back some day via character transfer (fingers crossed). I'm not a huge fan of starting over, so until I hit 50 or I become extremely bored of this class, I'll be playing on Siren.

Lovely screen shot, Keegan! My Lalafell is a 32 White Mage over on Tiamat. I also have 2 characters on Excalibur (Conjurer and Gladiator level 6) but since the Server was always full, I spent my time where I could play. Now that I can get back into Excalibur I'll be jumping over there from time to time.

For the time being, I'm exploring with my Unicorn.  :-)

Thanks =) I'm sitting on the docks of Costa del Sol, taking a break from the 4 hour fate grinding marathon I took part in the other night. Watching the sun rise was pretty cool. I'm a sucker for the environment, Always have. If Turbine wouldn't have screwed up LotRO I'd still be there. I love the environmental graphics of that game (plus it was pretty fun up to Mines of Moria, then after that it went to crap). Oh well, I hope everyone is enjoying the game.

Scholar.  It was my first choice but such a rocky road that I considered ditching it many times.  At 40, FINALLY, I can main heal a dungeon...  although I definitely had to get Cnj34 and Thm26 to make it work.  In fact, it went from hard at 30 (say, Brayflox) to too easy at 40.   Pets need to take damage in dungeons, just like players. 

@Paja I agree about LoTRO "vanilla".   I was at level cap for like 18 months prior to Moria, and still had fun every day running dungeons.

Dragoon on account we have a love hate relationship due to FFII and it's always been my fiorst choice. I will go hardcore until I get that class and then it's up in the air from there.

Warrior here.  I bounced around before launch between WAR and PLD, finally decided on WAR and loving it.

I'm a 50 pally! 

Paladin.

Lancer was my first pick but that was because Marrra was a conjurer and then we'd start in same region. I hit level 30 paladin last night and just working on Marauder to get the last of the cross class skills.

I decided to go bard and sticking to it even if they changed around how it works a lot from beta to live.  Closing in on getting through to get this job.  Need to do the L30 archer and I have my pugilist up to 17 now, so should get the bard quest available as soon as I get this 30 archer instance out of the way.  It's a doozy.  Tried twice before I ran out of time yesterday and splatted both times.  ::chuckles::

Of course I also have every craft and gathering anywhere from 15 to 21.  ;)  Pretty much know where to gather what items from what node up through L25 botanist nodes and L20 mining nodes.  Real close to accessing the L25 minining nodes.  So definitely LOVING the crafting in this game.

Paladin here!

Paladin here, currently on Lamia server. My alt/off-character is a monk on Ixion. I like tanking; I did it as a raid leader in SWTOR through end game on the Republic side for the first 6 months the game was live and have continued on tanking since then as my main character style in newer MMO's.

Currently Archer at 30, but I haven't really decided on what Job I want to take to 50 first, yet.  I'm currently in a holding pattern until they work out this creation lock issue and/or character transfers and ultimately depends whether or not the zone overcrowding issue on Excalibur lessens any time soon.

Its actually not too much of an inconvenience right now, as I haven't been feeling well, school started for my kid, so my schedule is in flux atm and LOTRO has their Farmer's Festival going on, so I've been staying occupied.  However if things are not addressed in the next week or two, then I'll consider other options.

Originally I wanted to get a Scholar to 50 first (still might).  When I didn't get a group quickly in duty finder, I figured I'd level up my Conjurer to get groups (since I had to anyways for Scholar).  Most likely will get the White Mage to 50 now.    I have a Scholar, Summoner, and Black Mage all in the 30s.  The plan was to also get a Warrior (Marauder 21/Guardian 15), so I could play a Healer, Tank, or DPS, whatever the situation needed.  So even if the WHM is first to 50, I can see the other 4 will hit 50 very shortly after.

My main class is Paladin (lvl31) and it is the class I knew I'd be playing. I always go for either a tank or a healer. The reasoning for picking Pal over War this time was purely cosmetic. I love the Pal relic set as compared to the War, lol.

I always go for healers so I'm planning on going the WHM route. I just picked up the game last week so I'm Conj 19/Arc 11 right now.

When I first ran Satasha I was a little worried about the healing being too easy, but last night I ran Tam-Tara and it seems like it got a little more difficult. Hoping the later dungeons are a good healing challenge. Got my mouseover macros ready to go!

Bard was my first choice -- I hit level 40 last night.  

Starting with WHM as a main, and a Monk as a secondary class as I get time, though I am now waffling between summoner and BLM instead since my main is magic user as well. That is the downside to being able to do everything with one character, you can do everything. And I am the kind of person that wants to try it all :P

It was my first choice after posting on these forums and asking your opinions and I have to say I really do like it. 

Sadly I'm only level 20. I play when I can and unfortunately life as of late has not afforded me much opportunity to play.  Heck I have yet to even join Echoes. Mainly because I don't get on until midnight or some time after.  I'll catch up to you guys someday :)

I took BLM to 50 first to get used to the game before going the tank route.

I started playing Conjurer, because i like playing a healer class. I'm level 23 now, but i got distracted with the gathering and crafting. When i'm finsihed with these i fully concentrate to become a White Mage. Then i go the Scholar route, i heard this is also a healer class?

Yes, Scholar is Also a Healer. I believe Scholar is more Preventive, and White Mage is more Reactive.
