Me! I didn't even think that Open Beta would allow for characters to stay on the server.. but then I hadn't thought of FFXIV being on my radar at the time >.>
Using the Benchmark, Marrra is currently making her Miqo'te to see how it looks. We've both done the benchmarking and I worked out best settings for her already. All we need now is to actually buy the game...
I also did not get in. Will have my alarm clock set for 0145hrs on Saturday to try and get in for the 0200hrs open. BTW, will we be on ventrilo or raidcall or ? I could not find where the forum was that has the settings, etc. (Yeah, I'm old [66 years] and not real good with computer stuff, lol. I usually just stay with a keyboard and try and type out my message.)

Me, I will have my alarm set (4am here) and drag tired behind to the pc to do my best.

I did not - BUT - I have decided to hold off - indefinitely - sorry.
After a lot of thinking, I've decided I have spread myself too thin as it is. I have several game "things" going on already in existence. I will be moving closer to my grandkids in the next couple of months - oh, and my kids, too (they think I forgot about them once the grandkids came along) and need to start packing the place up and finding a new place would be nice. (You'd think moving into a town the size of Phoenix would be easy to find a new apartment - but I am outright picky and I need to find a place that is situated between the two kids (even in their late 30's and early 40's they still think I favor one over the other if I move closer to one - the big brats).
So I won't be joining you after all :( - but wish you my best and who knows what the future will hold - but I'm not looking at adding anything to my plate until after the new year.

@Tildi, yes we will be in the Gaiscioch RaidCall, in the Final Fantasy rooms about half-way down the list.

While, fortunately, I was able to get Sunni onto Excalibur and into Echoes, my hubby was not. He tried unsuccessfully over the weekend to make a toon on Excalibur, but never was able to. He did preorder, so we'll keep trying to get him onto Excalibur starting on Saturday a.m. He plans on making a White Mage named Burleydawg Olram.
A good portion of the riff raff will be gone on early access!! It will be a sufficiently smaller crowd than the large amount of people playing P4 with no intentions of buying the game for release.
Should have all server issues as well as Character creation issues taken care of!
Will be in Raidcall for EA release party!
I wasn't able to get onto Excalibur for Beta P4. I was able to get my preorder code registered for early access today, however!
I hope to be able to get a character on Excalibur as quickly as possible! Look forward to joining Echoes once I get there!
I did not as I was just to busy with work. It is a crazy time for me right now. I have pre-ordered the game and won't be on until then. :)

We are expecting major congestion during the period starting with the Early Access on Aug. 24, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. (PDT) leading up to the official game launch on Aug. 27, 2013 (PDT).
If a large volume of players attempt to login to the game simultaneously, certain players may receive the following message: “This World is currently full. Players in queue: ##.” If you receive this message, we ask that you please wait until your login is processed.
In addition, in order to avoid server congestion related issues from multiple characters concentrating in the starting areas, we may implement restrictions on logins and/or the creation of new characters for a period of time after the servers open to the public.
