Pre-Order Code Redemption Website

http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/us is where you will be going to enter your pre-order codes (assuming NA, not sure about Oz or EU).  Atm, its currently not active, but you can sign up for an email alert as to when the site will become available for accepting pre-order redemptions.

Even though the page you linked looks live now, my account page says registration is still unavailable.  Some folks on reddit report getting an error when using it.

I think I'll wait until the Squeenix send me an email with the All Clear.

Seems to be either high traffic, or not quite ready yet.  

I ordered through SE and got a 'Pre Order Bonus Code' and I have been wondering all along is this all I need or should there be a product code and then the bonus code is in addition? Or is it just the one code?

Initially I got nothing but after a week or so they sent an email saying they noticed that I had ordered and hadn't been sent anything, so I was a little uneasy and confused during that week. I find SE rather confusing.

the code should be 6 letters-3numbers-6letters-3numbers   you only get 1 code from SE listed as a product code I believe.

Thanks Izzy, that's what I got, 6 letter 3 numbers 6 letters 3 numbers, so looks like I am good.

I'm seeing a long thread on the beta forum saying people getting error codes when registering the code so I am gonna wait for my email, or at least until the dust settles a bit lol

It acts like it is active now and doesn't give the option to get the email anymore from what I can see.  However, it is encountering errors and is probably being HAMMERED!  Some people think later is a few minutes or lets just keep trying until it works.  ;)  If I get it in before the 24th I'll be happy.  Can't play until then anyway!

Dont have it handy, but I read a post on the forums by someone that spoke to SE customer support. They said that altho the site is up, it is not functioning at the moment. SOME people are able to get their codes successfully redeemed, but by and large, we cannot yet. Customer support said to wait for the email that will go out to everyone within the next 24 to 48 hours, at that point the service will be *emperor palpatine voice* FULLY OPERATIONAL!

Right I've spoken to SE support again directly, this is the info fed to me:

Currently even though the page is live to the public, it's not actually working as intended.

• Don't use the http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/ (or na / jp) link(s) as it won't work.
• Everyone will be notified, that entered their email address into the official site previously as to when the page is actually 'actively functioning' to redeem your codes.
• The XXXXX-XXX-XXXXXX-XXX , 18 digit code you receive from your retailer you purchased the pre-order from IS the code you use @ http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/ but only to be used when the community (as a whole) is notified via email that the page is up and functioning officially for use. Support advised me to advise anyone, not to use the page until said notification email is received (he approximated within the next 24/48 hours)
• I asked them "Is my code now void..." because the game is now registered against my SE account but on PC instead of PS3, they reassured me that the code will not be void and to try it again when the page is active. If it doesn't work, then to phone them directly and they will address it.

The page that I linked in my OP is the NA page for code redemptions, but when I posted, all it was allowing was a signup for email alerts.  If that changed today and code redemptions weren't working, then SE made a booboo, they should have left it disabled until they sent out the emails.  I got the GMG email this morning, but I haven't had the time to go register, so glad to hear that worked to be best for me.

Yeah, apparently the site was working early on and then exploded.  It probably got a 3102 error.

Anyone have success?

"We sincerely apologize, but the pre-order redemption site is experiencing very high traffic which we are currently working to resolve.  We are adding additional bandwidth and server capacity to ensure that all customers will be able to redeem their pre-order codes as soon as possible."

I successfully got past error 3, however now I'm one of the lucky ones that ended up with a EU code that I cannot apply to my account. Here's hoping Squeenix gets this sorted out, and sorted out quickly. The 90000, 3102, and now this screw up is not giving me much confidence right now.

We have temporarily suspended the ability to redeem codes on the pre-order site while we continue to investigate the ongoing issues.

LOL, I bet they are completely overwhelmed by the popularity of this new revamp, considering the colossal flop that the 1.0 was.  I am sure that they had no idea that this level of popularity would even be possible.  (although I did see a FFXIV:ARR commercial the other night)

Ah, the patience trials of wanting to play a popular and well-designed online game.  #firstworldproblems  LOL

As long as I can get my code registered by Friday night, I'll be OK with holding off until they fix their traffic issues.

Pre-order website is now up. I received my proper Windows 20 digit code and it installed to my SE account.

Boo! Still get error 3 for me. Wondering as I ordered it form Amazon if I should cancel it and order from SE?

I was still getting error 3, but I cleared my browser cache and retyped my account info (not using saved) and it worked perfectly.

I ordered from Amazon too, and it worked for me.  I'd try clearing the browser cache like Izzy suggests (or use a different browser.)

Clearing my cache and relogging didn't work (still got error 3 spam kicked back to me).

What did work for me was logging in, allowing the page to load completely, and then simply refreshing the page once.

Once I saw that my name remained after the page reload (indicating I was still successfully logged in), I then entered my code and it accepted it just fine.

Seems their servers are having issues maintaining login sessions for some people...I blame 3102.

For anyone that got the wrong region code, re-enter your original pre-order code at preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com and you will be given a NEW code for the correct region. Confirmed this works.

I dont get it. I only have ONE code and it's the code I got in my order confirmation way back in July when I got it. It goes XXXXX - ### - XXXXXX - ###

I try entering this and it never works. Error 1 or error 3. now its error 1.. 

I never got a single email beyond that. What is wrong?

I think error code 1 equates to an invalid code entry, did you make sure to enter the letters of your code in all uppercase, Momo (it may be case sensitive)?

Unfortunately the codes they are giving for the PS3 are coming up as invalid on the PSN Store /sigh

Let's hope Square can fix this before Early Access.

Got mine to go in a few try's, I got error three I think a few time but all I did was to keep pressing go or whatever the button is called. It took about thirty mins tell I got the confirmation email with my early access code.

Guessing they'll try to give us at least 24 hours to patch the remaining 11.5GB (or whatever the compressed size will be), Nightfall.

Then again, SE makes some odd decisions sometimes...(like removing the quest tracker options /sigh).

The characters come out in caps automatically. i dont even need to caps lock

IS the pre order code the same code I used to register the game in my SE account profile? It's the code I've been using. Again, it's the only code I've ever gotten.

Been hesitating all day as to whether to try it or wait, so after reading this thread I tried, got the errror 3 code, then cleared browser cache as Izzy said and then it worked. Got 20 digit code and redeemed that and game is now showing up as registered.

This has all been very stressful, I am not a ranter or complainer normally but I could feel it welling up I was about to go off on one when I saw that error 3 code! Thank you Izzy!

Momo, when I registered my game through the SE account management site way back when, I used a 20-digit code.

That was during 1.0 Beta days though.

I've only ever used my new, FFXIV 2.0, 18-digit, pre-order code once, at SEs new pre-order registration site.

If/when you manage to successfully register your pre-order code there, SE will give you a new 20-digit code that you then register at this site.

Once that's done you should be good to go.

FYI: SE has yet to update their twitter page to state that their registration site problems have been fully resolved.

Hmm I cannot register my code. My account is "Europe and Other Regions" but I have an NA code bought from Amazon.  I now cannot register my NA code on an EU account.  Nice of them to warn us of this issue before selling the preorders >.< What a waste of $40!

I'd recommend emailing support. I know there was an issue where people were getting EU codes when they were from the NA.

I would have done the same as you Hex, had I not noticed that the NA site didn't state Australia but the EU store did on Square Enix.

I am thinking of buying a hard copy today to save the download allowance but do the second copy for Marrra as digital.

EDIT: Bah, no luck on a hard copy before the early start. Crossing fingers the Error ID 5001 fixes itself on Square Soft's Store.

Hex, you might be able to call SE and get them to change your region. They have really made this process so confusing. Here's a code to use to get a code to use, btw, you will need another code you dont have yet after early access. Really?!

Side note, has anyone heard about how or when we get our actual game keys?

Keys should be sent when you actually pay for the game on launch day I imagine.

Went to http://preorder.eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/us , put in the CD Greenmangaming had listed under my purchased games

This in turn generated an early start key, and linked to http://entry.ffxiv.com/pre-order_code/na to put it in ( was in the format XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX )

Put it in, and BLAM! All done.

yay got myself registered. so i'm good to go for the early release

Purchased through Amazon and went to the NA pre-order site and received the error 3 code so I used a different browser and it worked fine. Launcher is loaded and waiting for download day! 

I followed Gibsauce's links and it worked fine. Though it's a little disturbing that I can't log in to my account and find any evidence that I'm good to go. But hey, I'm sure it'll all work out.

Hex, :( Good luck working the customer support guys to get your issue resolved. I'm sure you'll be able to get them straightened out.

Hex, I think I have a EU Pre-Order code for the PS3 if you want it.

I decided to try and register two codes...and it worked. So on my account page. the one with confirm status, payment, etc. I have FF14 1 and FF14 2...uhhhh...

@ Bishok, thanks heaps for the offer, but I play on PC, so I would have to register a PC EU code. I am just annoyed that Amazon enter into a contract for sale on agreed terms, and then leave out the part that says it will not work if you are outside the USA.  Had I known that I would have bought it from SE Europe and it would have been easy!

I still get early access as I have legacy, just miss out on the mog cap and cait sith possibly.  Investigating atm whether it can be cancelled through Amazon so I can re-buy it. No big deal, just annoying!

don't feel bad Hex I'm sure a lotta people are in that hat. I got mine from Square Enix itself. early release, pre-order bonus items and Collector Edition Items. I wasn't going to trust any other venders.

@Hex, if you cancel perhaps you could try GreenManGaming, I think they're a British company and usually sell stuff with great discounts. Most folks that I know have bought FF14 through them. Anyway if you find yourself in a bind, at least you could tie the PS3 Early Access code to your account and still get the items.

Personally the reason I have an extra pre-order code was due to me upgrading my Pre-Order to a physical CE and also getting the PS3 version so that I can apply it to my 1.0 account and still get the 30 days of game time that comes with new boxes.

Yay, was able to get both my and my hubby, Burleydawg's, preorder codes entered and registered, after getting an error 3 the first time we tried!  Now that that's done, can't wait for Saturday!  :D
