What are you thoughts about the new justice system and the ability to become a serial killer?
I personally am thrilled with it! It was an aspect that I was dearly missing from my experience with the TES games. Next, I am anxiously awaiting for them to add a Thief Guild official Quest line!
Yeah, I need to get on and get some screens for the magazine (doing a thieving profit guide type thing.) It's amazingly fun to try to see what you can manage to pull off, and some of the spots are actually really tricky!
The Justice System makes the game world feel so much more alive, and it makes you think more about your actions and their consequences. It really feels like an Elder Scrolls game now!
I'm not very good at thievery right now - too impatient - but that's no matter because its fun! I started a new NB Khajiit to play the deviant outcast role, and we've been getting into all sorts of trouble in Davons Watch and Mournhold.
It seems that others are finding the life of crime very profitable too. After some more leveling I think I will spend considerable time just being a criminal to see how profitable it can really be. I suppose that means I'll have to stop getting caught though, haha.
Good times, and I just can't wait for the Enforcers to show up on the scene. That's when things are really going to get interesting.
I really do like it - as I stated in guild chat the other day - my goal is never to get caught so I never have a bounty on my head and I managed that the other day. I don't like slaying innocent citizens just because they caught me stealing from them and I'm not fond of slaughtering live stock but picking strong box locks inside the Fighter's Guild or the businesses is quite a challenge and great thrill - at least for me. I would like to see them add in a quest line. I do hope if someone is an enforcer that my stealth will work on them just like it does the guards and citizens otherwise there will be one stationed at every strong box :(
Honest officer guard captain i was holding my dagger out and this person just ran backwards and impaled himself on the pointy end and then his pocket wrapped itself around my hand :)
well if enforcers start siting at lock boxes that's where teams of thieves will work awesome, get some guys to move and fight while others steal :)
LOL Dor, and make sure the one that gets the loot can actually get out of the building if there is a guard in it. =) Could be fun!
I've just done a basic overview of the Justice System for the magazine as part of my 1.6 and Tamriel Unlimited Overview article. I have a sad inclination I'm not going to find out info on any new updates in time to put NEW upcoming stuff officially in my article though. And well it won't be an update 1.7 either. Today's patch for Tamriel Unlimited takes us straight to 2.0 so I'm guessing a 2.1 ....maybe? =)
I look forward to the article on how to make money with thieving though I already did 10K easily even with losing 2K in bounties with a couple oopses.
NOTE1: If you know the building you want to loot has a guard in it that paths to the door, either have someone spot them for you or wait until you don't have any stolen loots on you and you don't mind chancing have to pay up the bounty or dying. ::chuckles::
NOTE2: Patience. LOTS and LOTS of PATIENCE! Know the lay of your terrain and how things move and take the time to note how things are timed. Going at the wrong time only adds to your bounty and makes you run screaming for the refuge!
Yeah, lockboxes, pathing, and the like are a lot of what I have written for the article. I also am going to be testing the viability of invisibility potions for slipping out if you are in a building with a guard (meant to do this over the weekend, but ended up with family in town.) I'm thinking tonight might be for that, screenshots, etc... as long as the server isn't a mess!
I LOVE the idea of it, especially that I have to stop and think, "Would this character kill that person? Or steal from this house? Or pickpocket someone?"
Many of my characters wouldn't, but a few would. I think 1.6 in general, but certainly the Justice System gives the world a fresh breath of life
For those that are curious, YES! Invisible potions will let you exit the buildings if a guard is tailing you given that:
1. You use it either before any dots, or after a purge on said dots, so that you have time to exit.
2. You are quick enough to use it and hit E to exit prior to a tick of damage (or are just very lucky.)
3. You are not being pulled with a DK style chain. (These seem to have a little delay, and will grab you while invisible and pull you, breaking the effect.)
4. You don't faceplant somebody and break the effect, thus getting back into combat without exiting.
All of you who collected Nirnroot... it's finally good for something! :P

I've been really excited about this system! not so much the Outlaw side of the system, but rather the Enforcer side.
I'm a big fan of Law & Order, NCIS, and shows of that likeness; as a child i believe at one point i wished to grow up to be a Police officer.
With that in mind, i feel like i have a very strong sense of justice, so... Criminals beware! the Enforcer system may not be available yet, but WHEN it is, I'm taking you all down.... to the holding cells. :P
