What is SweetFX?

So in case you're new to SweetFX Shader Suite (or just SweetFX), it's a mod built on the InjectSMAA shader injector, that allows you to apply a suite of post processing shader effects to your games.

You may have tried another shader injection mod before, like InjectFXAA, InjectSMAA or FXAAtool. SweetFX improves upon all of these.

You can add SMAA anti-aliasing, sharpening and tweak the color, gamma, exposure and more.
It's meant to allow you to improve the look of your games and change the look and mood of it to your liking.
If you use SMAA antialiasing instead of MSAA or an even more expensive antialiasing technique you can also make the game run faster (than with MSAA)

TL;DR: Makes your game look WAY better than it does out of the box or fresh installed!

If you are interested in trying SweetFX download a ready to go install for ESO here.

http://1drv.ms/1zh5Hr3

(These are the exact file my wife and I use on our ESO install and they make the game look EPIC-ALLY more beautiful without a FPS loss or are they hard on slower computers. To test them in-game once installed use Scroll Lock to turn SweetFX On/Off to see the difference.

  1. Download the .Zip File from my OneDrive above
  2. Extract the files from SweetFX.zip into your ESO Install folder (this should be somewhere like this…  ..\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client ) These should be put into the “client” Folder.
  3. Start-up the game as normal
  4. BEHOLD GLORIOUS BEAUTIFUL GAMEPLAY
  5. PROFIT!!!

Ask me in-game for any info you need or questions and I would also be more than HAPPY to jump into RaidCall and answer any questions anyone may have! (If only to have EVERYONE experience SweetFX) :)

Installed  and game crashed on launch.  Think  the issue is I have the game installed on drive F and something in the down load is looking for it in drive C

Does this happen to give you an advantages in a game like CS. Perhaps making the enemy stand out more and be less camouflaged ?

@Zoomzoom

It makes the graphics a little sharper as a whole (it's a graphics shader) and slightly increases the field of view (FoV), so no, it doesn't enhance the enemy specifically. I don't play CS, but SweetFX has been challenged in many games, and each game company has decided whether or not to allow it based on their own ruleset.

In terms of ESO, I searched the forums and found a thread dated April 2014 (maybe someone knows of a better/more recent link?) which related to the use of FoV enhancers, and ZeniMax staff member Gina Bruno stated that  a specific FoV enhancer (not SweetFX but similar functionality) was permitted, adding that ZOS intended to add its own FoV enhancer to the game at some point: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/75752/zos-banning-cheaters-question-on-the-fov-addon-mod/p4

(Caveat: that thread did not specifically mention SweetFX, and the mod is an executable, so the usual precautions apply when considering whether to use it. I'm not using it as I'm no longer playing ESO).

Field of View

An example of the Field of View differences can be seen on this page -- scroll down to the images ---: (source: ESO official forums)  http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/comment/656932#Comment_656932

Graphics Shader

An example of the effects of the graphics shader are shown in the example linked below (wait until the page loads and then move your cursor from left to right to see the original view, and right to left to see the effects of the graphics shader) (source: Reddit : http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/1zsxmk/my_sweetfx_preset/ )
