Supposedly the new beta driver 340.43 for Ninvida helps with som,e of the FPS issues as its optimised for ESO . however i still think most of the issues are on their end , it couldn`t hurt to try the new beta drivers and see if it helps .

I am pretty sure it is their end. The only place I experience it is in AvAvA. I run about 60 FPS in PvE areas and it drops to 25-35 in AvAvA which is kind of what I expect - and have no issues with this - but occassionaly I drop down to 5-8 which typically gets me killed and others have it even worse than me.
Re-logging gets me right back up to the good FPS - and this is their suggestion for a fix to "their" issue. I'm pretty sure they will get it worked out.
Ohhh - and my video card is over 3 years old - I will get a new one soon... I hope.
I have a 460 GTX and it runs the game just fine, I'll pull 50-55 FPS walking around Stormhold on High settings. (seriously, that model of card is so good that a the 600 series are barely a noticeable upgrade in performance)
The FPS issue, that I can tell, is a memory leak in their UI API. Something to do with the notification fly-text. You might notice a slight pause that gets worse over time, also depends on consecutive skill casting and/or particle effects. I've found its a lot more noticeable on my Sorcerer after using particular spells, than with my other toons. I've disabled all addons, run completely vanilla and will still get the problem.
I did install the new Beta drivers this morning, but I haven't had a chance to really play much, so I'll see how they work out for me when I get a few hours to play.
yep my card is a gtx 560 ti with 1 g ram and i get 75-80 fps in pve even in cryrodill i`ll be 45-60 ish till a fight then it drops down to 5 fps
granted my pc is a bit old only have Quad core intel Q9300 4 cores at 2.5 mhz, and 8 G ram + 1 g ram on Vid card .
but it does ok till more than 30 on the screen in one spot
sadly I began experiencing the fps issue in Riften when someone is healing (after the patch). My fps just tanks from 70-80ish normally on high to 12 or so. I'm hoping they get it sorted soon. I don't have the snazziest video card but my 650ti has been respectable enough to run most games on high very well. May have to try the drivers and see if that helps but I'm with y'all and this fps drop didn't always happen for me which makes me inclined to think its not as simple as a driver fix sadly.
well drivers helped i guess , went up to 95 fps in a instance , 60 ish in pve but still get spikes where it drops to 10 fps then back to 40 ish then to 20 etc .
tried the so called turning off ya ingame sound fix , didn`t seem to help any . hopefully they figure it out and soon its amazing every patch to fix it , ends up breaking more things than it fixes which is odd .
It doesn't look like ZOS fixed this yet. I was out in Cyrodiil and many are still complaining about having to constantly restart their clients several times during a keep take, just to fix the slideshow that still happens.
When I read the patch notes, something didn't look right about what they said were the causes. Then messing around with some stuff over the last few days has led me to believe that their QA team needs to perform a complete test pass of the client, from Launcher to in-game character game-play. There's some pretty goofy stuff going on, I think that they missed something. A thorough code review and in-depth test pass should be able to find and resolve the client bugs.
Also, if they enable an addon that uses custom textures, they'll find a huge FPS hit, that I suspect is related. I'm just guessing though, because I don't have access to the client design docs and code repository.
Well I have maxed out all graphic settings and I'm using 560Ti. normally FPS flies around 40-60, depends on situation. In smaller fight in AvA I think it around 20-30 and when there is no fights, it goes up to 40-60. But in larger fights, something breaks in engine and FPS starts dropping steadilly and won't go up even fighting ends.
So people have been talking about memory leak problem which might be true. AvA just starts hogging all resources and then you hit bottom. I have 16gb ram and I was able to play little longer, but eventually my FPS went to 2-3. Maybe this happens faster with older graphics card, but problem is definately on ESO AvA rather than on your own computer.
Problem can be fixed by logging out and logging back in or going out of AvA to PvE zone and back. Anyway with whole time I have been playing, I haven't had this kind of problems with PvE. Never FPS has gone down and stayed down and started steadily to decline. Two days ago I was on Craglorn in anomaly train with around 12-15 players and everything worked just fine.
Hopefully Nvidia releases new WHQL drivers soon. I'm not keen using Beta drivers. And in the sametime ZO continues working on its end.
nVidia WHQL drivers should be later this month, if they hold to past release schedules. They'll most likely be this current Beta version, too, but its personal choice to wait or not.
Im running the beta driver. It certainly didnt work for me in AvA. As soon as an enemy shows up, I drop to 1-3 fps. Just have to wait for Zenimax to put a stopper in the leak.
Apparently there's an issue with sound, too. You might have noticed some choppy sound and turning off sound does seem to affect some of the performance issues, but not all of them and eventually the FPS will slow to a crawl. I've found it happens a lot with anything that affects lighting. I noticed it a lot on my Sorc and also while running Mage Light, I'll tank FPS a lot faster.
Honestly, I liked the game the way it was, so I'm not sure why they decided to do whatever they did to the lighting. Hopefully its something that they can fix, because the performance was great prior to the patch that introduced the new Lighting upgrade, or whatever it was.
yeap there is an issue with sound.. I don't know about FPS drops but something with the sound is causing delayed animations and npcs not to spawn properly. Turning off the sound fixes that issue.
Hm, interesting. I'll have to test that with my Sorc and see if it fixes the combat issues that I've been trying to track down. I thought it was lighting issues with the Storm Calling abilities and explosions, but those skills do have very loud and compact sound effects, so maybe that's what's been going on.
didn`t help me any , pve outside of AVA i get werid spikes where it drops to 15 for a couple seconds but most of the time its mid 50 and up to 90 + in dungeons.
In AVA with sound /music off all turned dow to low of turned off lighting, bloom shadows particle effects it still drops to 1 fps and gets better after i /crash relog but only upos it to 17 ish then it drops again .
According to the offical ESO forums , todays patch did not fix the FPS issue we have had for the last 2 or 3 weeks . many posters reported same fps drops down to 1-8 fps .
I`ll check later when i get home , if so i`ll take a break from the game, can`t see paying to test until they figure out how to fix it . i`ll be back when they fix it .
I have noticed it's slowly improving. From two weeks ago every fight I was dropping down to 2-4fps from 30/40 fps in cyrodiil. This past week it seems the FPS for me didn't drop as fast as it did the previous time. I do remember reading somewhere in the ESO forums that one of the problems might be do to one of the resto staff healing spells.
I'm pretty sure that they tried to fix the Resto skill bugs last week. I'm kind of disappointed. I read the patch notes and it seemed like they covered most of what I reported, so... hmm. :\
Well patch 1.2.5 is out and the FPS problem is just as bad as it was with patch 1.2.4. No feedback from ESO other than "we are aware of the problem and working hard to correct".
This lack of attention to a serious problem, as far as we can tell as consumers, has left a bad taste in my mouth for the game. I am still a supporter of the game and feel it offers so much more than anything else out there. I am however reaching a much higher frustration level than I did even with WoW, and just about any other game I have played in the past 10 years of MMO gaming.
I hope that Matt Fior will personally respond to the concerns of his fan base an provide meaninful responses to us all!
