GSCH Theater Casting Call:

I had suggested during the magazine meeting this last week that we could possibly perform a play within ESO.  Several people had expressed interest.

After some thought, I decided that something from within the game 'Skyrim' would be a cool first play.

Thus, I am attempting to fill a roster of people to perform a play based off the book 'Rislav the Righteous.'  The story takes place in the 1st era, so it matches well with the ESO timeline.

What we need to pull this off:

A minimum of 6 performers.  Ideally more.  With 6 performers, we are looking at having 2 people playing the token part of entire armies.  Obviously the more we fill out the nicer it will look.

Leather.  We will need a lot of leather armor.  I will be looking into crafting a bunch given my main is a high end crafter, and my VR4 alt can craft imperial style (which matches one of the armies.)

A narrator.  I may fill this role as well as acting as a director via GameVox (helping people remember lines and such.)

Additional people to take screenshots would be great if I am indeed filling the narrator role, and even if I am not!

A good spot to stage things, which is easy to get to for EP players, and a good time for us all to gather.


This would be something that would become an article for the magazine, so a cast list will acknowledge those willing to have a moniker listed.  Those who do not will simply have their part listed as 'Anonymous by request.'

Not sure I would even know how to do this, but if there is a space for a clueless Eiahn to participate, I think I would enjoy being a part of this.

Eiahn:  There is space for anyone who wants to go have fun.

The acting would entail rolling a character and using them for the play, you can stay at low level.  Alternatively, as a person filling an army role, you could just use a currently existing character (I would like the named main characters to have that name if possible!)

There are other ways to contribute, such as narration (typing in a bunch of sentences for scene setting and general storytelling,) or just some other type of fun (If we have a lot of people, some could be running a stand with some food and drink, some taking alternate angle screenshots, etc.)

The actual story is fairly simple, and is about 5 pages of text in Skyrim (minus the background information which does not pertain to such a performance.)  I will have the story written down in front of me (adding a few lines and dialogue for fun, most likely... I will have a write-up ready to go for us to discuss given interest,) so I can relay lines and direct movements... mostly you just have to be willing to go out, have some fun doing something different, and be ready to laugh at all of us when something doesn't go quite as planned!  :)

Not playing ESO currently, but I wanted to mention that this is something that we routinely did back in 2002-2003 in a game called Dark Ages (not of Camelot) and it was actually a server-wide success. Someone wrote up full-fledged pages long scripts and we prepared ourselves over the course of two weeks.

It was really awesome to see the community come together to come check out our performance.

Just wanted to give you guys some kudos. This post/idea brought back some nostalgia. :)

I have gone ahead and posted an event for this, as a final interest check this Saturday.  I basically have the script done, so we can see what to expect.

If there is just not enough interest, I will gladly discuss some other possible ideas.  Given enough time, I will help people figure out how they would do this in game.
