Twilah Golden Pt 1

By: Twilah

The road had become a river of mud hours ago. Twilah's feet were numb from the rushing, cold water. It was probably for the best. Her dulled mind knew she had been on the road for more than a day. First running, then slowing to a fast walk later as the rain had begun to shower her blood soaked body and the adrenaline faded. Then finally, after several hours on the road the shower had grown into an angry storm. The ache in her legs disappered in a mercifull numb as each step seemed to sink her deeper into the mud.

The blood had washed off with the rain and pruned her skin hours before. Her mind and sense had gone dull. Long, lavender hair that was once adorned with ribbons and scents now dripped down her back, cacked in mud.

"I must get to the city and warn the guard"

The words vanished in her mind and her heart began to pound again as an image of her sister appeared. Her beautiful older sister. Daeva. Warrior. Strong, proud and beautiful...everything she had hoped to be someday...being cut down by the Elyos invaders while trying to protect thier home. Those graceful wings failing, falling, falling to the ground and pools of blood dropped through the sky like a red rain and covered Twilah. Did she honestly think she could catch her and break the fall?

"RUN Twilah! Get out of here NOW!"

And she had begun to run for her life, towards the city to warn the guard, like a coward...Jaiyd's final wards echoing in her ears. Was she crying again, or was that the rain?
