Into The Enemy Territory

Father Chase,
Twice now our Family has ventured beyond enemy lines to face the incursion of Death and Water into the lands claimed by the Defiants, and twice the inhabitants of that domain have failed to thwart our efforts. Other than a few young cowards taking pot-shots at our flank, we have seen no true resistance. Could it be that these, our lost kinsfolk, would welcome our help to resist the Rifts that penetrate the Ward? Might we even someday stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our lost brothers and sisters in the Defiant horde, bravely pushing Regulos back and sealing the fate of the Dragons forever? 'Tis a dream devoutly to be wished, for I am certain the Vigil do not see the Defiant as mortal enemies, but as children led astray by the lies of power postulated by Regulos and his pet technomancers.
Last night's raid into enemy territory proved that our Family needs to train our tactics in more friendly environments. I look forward to our coming raids against the Rifts in Silverwood, as long as I can keep my dear Rhiannan from singing while others are dying. She remains both a blessing and a burden, but still the brightest spot in my ascendance. Until next time, I remain your faithful student.
