Guide To Changing An Items Appearance (Neverwinter)

Guide to changing an items appearance (Neverwinter)

It came to my attention today that it isn't always very clear how to change appearance on items in Neverwinter. My buddy asked me today why people run around with their armor in nice colors like red and black as a couple of examples.

I took it upon myself to find out the answer to this question. While it may be obvious for some, it wasn't obvious to him or me until I looked closer.

Step 1: Hit the C button and select name of the item you wish to change the appearance for. The button will give you a list of options, select Change Appearance. Note: Not all items can have their appearance modified.

Step 2: You have two options of dying your selected piece of gear. You can click the appearance button and select the color you wish to use, or you can drag the color from your inventory over to the empty appearance slot. If you change your mind, just move a new color into that slot.

Step 3: Placing a dye into the appearance slot will give you the option to select Accent, Primary or Secondary. This is the "location" where you will change the color of the dye for that piece of armor. Some dyes, like the Moon Shadow Dye Packs from the Zen store do not allow you to select any of these options as it will affect the entire piece with a predefined color.

That's it for changing colors. Changing the physical appearance of an item is similar, but instead of using dye you are using an item that you like the graphics of. Just drag the item into the empty slot and you will have that graphic with the stats of the previous item.
