A Prodigal Son

By: Craythur

It's been over a year since I last ran with the Tuatha. After my disillusionment with EA/Mythic and the future of Warhammer I followed a handful of the family to LoTRO. I enjoy Middle Earth. I think the level disparities within the group were our undoing. By the time we were all the same level Rift beta and a new edition of DDO pulled most of us away. I played a bit of the Rift beta myself. The game didn't hook me enough to play at launch. So we came to a parting of the ways.

I briefly dabbled with Cataclysm. My wife still plays WoW on and off so I always end up being tempted back for short periods of time to quest with her. Playing a goblin again was humorous enough. I kept finding myself wanting to play a proper Warhammer greenskin. Even so, there is something quite enjoyable about playing through very polished content even if it is candy-flossed.

I didn't game much until SWTOR released. Being a life long Star Wars fan made trying the game a no brainer. I enjoyed myself and would have kept playing if real life hadn't thrown a wrench into the works. I suddenly found myself too exhausted and distracted to spend time in an online game. Once things had settled down the guild I had joined had essentially vanished. My enthusiasm had ebbed as well so I never did go back to the galaxy far, far away. So long as EA doesn't completely drop the Jawa I may very well go back someday.

Now that Guild Wars 2 is finally playable, if only on beta weekends, my path has finally brought me back to Gaiscioch. Well met friends! May the reunion be a happy one. To Tyria!
