I am literally an INTP, so 'In Person' meet ups automatically generate a high level of anxiety for me! However, that lasted about .0001 seconds after, I got a text from Fog checking on me (sitting around the corner at the back bar) and meeting up with the family! I was fortunate enough to at least meet every single person one on one! One-on-One is the bomb-diggity for me to meet people.

Caveat: It was a personal honor-your-word-commitment-challenge for me to show up with the medical back and leg pain situation I was in. (see: https://goo.gl/iUkcFv on the Forum here for details.) The last big obstacle was getting in the little tiny Lyft car they sent. lol. To make matters worse, I had skipped some of my pain medicine for the previous 24 hours so I could drink without 'mixing', this resulted in being in a bit of a bind and it worsened as the night went on and hope I didn't make a spectacle of myself or take away from the event. The concern I was shown was humbling and extremely appreciated!

The Family: Ben led the Social Raid in a fantastic, laid back social networking and beer rental event manner! (Def getting a token for this one!) I got to see people I had never met but "Guild Fair don't care", we automatically had something in common and could chat right up! Fog may handle the names of attendees particularly so I don't want to do that here, but feel free to Tag yourself in the comments below! This was a fantastic, open, hilarious Celebration Raid group! #familylove!

Don and Company!

I got ported in!

Family x Friends

Irish I could make another celebration soon!

Irish Flag

F'Doe was the perfect slack spot! Lol

Fado

The Irish Mana Dispenser was working great! I am a Black and Tan fan, but also enjoyed a Strongbow! Suggestions are always welcome!

Pado Taps

Come to daddy! I don't think I was ever so ready for Black and Tan!

Black and Tan

I didn't get a big meal, but I sampled a variety of Appetizers! Chips were HOT (temp hot) exactly the way I like them and the sauces were off the hook,
with Marie Rose & Guinness aioli sauces! Yummm.

Chips!

Networking: I took the opportunity to mix a little business with pleasure and had some local friends of mine I work with drop in to meet my 'other family'. I generally don't mix business and gaming but in this case, one of the people has Gaiscioch written all over them and would really enjoy and be a good addition to the family. Leo doesn't currently play any of our chapter games, but I think Fog may have some upcoming chapters up his sleeve that caught his interest! Leo brought a friend of his who loved the whole guild meet up, even though she is not a gamer! I think she is a fill in for April Ludgate on the show Park and Recreation :)))))))

I also invited a high-level vendor friend of mine who I thought would be a good contact for Ben for logistical efforts of the guild, particularly if he needs any items designed or produced in bulk. Johnny, contacted me after the event and was very complimentary about the guild concept, website and particularly complimentary to our leadership (Looking at you Ben) and is interested in helping us in the future if the need shall arise. He owns a bunch of factories that produce all sorts of things! Johnny rocks!

Leo and Serena: Come to us!

Where: We rally bannered to Fadó Irish Pub (pronounced f’doe is Gaelic for “long ago”) in downtown Seattle! Great authentic place, it surprised me that they were a chain (http://fadoirishpub.com/locations/) these make a cozy and intimate setting for the group and can expand to fill different areas with ease! It filled quickly but we were set up in the side area with a live Irish folk music band playing all night! It had nice big gaming capable tables and high tables as well. I personally opted for Black and Tan for drinks and multiple snacks for eats, and there may or may not have been a couple of shots taken.

Don alerted me to the IRISH breakfast, come hungry or come home...or go home...or rustle up an Irish Breakfast!

Irish Breakfast

Why do we get together offline? WHY NOT! I don't think I have had something that I was looking forward to as much as this Family Celebration in a LONG time. No selling, no buying just Ceiliúradh (Celebration) with Teaghlach (Family)!

Action Needed: Subscribe to the Real World Event thread here and try to make plans to attend a Teaghlach Ceiliúradh near you!

Some tidbits:

I was personally celebrating an accomplishment within the Guild Rank structure I am VERY proud of!

The hand sign that you may have noticed that I make in photos is the American Sign Language Fingerspelling for the letter "R".

Ramrod Fingerspelling

This Fingerspelling represents belonging to a group of gamers and friends who lost a central member of our group to Cancer and we needed a way to identify, in pictures and videos, that we were showing dedication to the life well lived by our friend and that we were in midst of living 'the good life' in whatever picture or video you see us using the Fingerspelling. It is the letter "R" and originally stood for "Ramrod", a tongue in cheek reference to taking charge of a group and getting things done, such a raid or other similar function. An example of use: Eluveittie Ramrodded the TD and everybody got it done.

This is a picture of some of the members of "Team Ramrod", all of which I'm hoping joins us for a future game roll out! One notable 'missing' from the picture is one of our recent new members in the Rift chapter of Gaiscioch, "Dangles", who was having to work in Kansas City that night. (Also don't let him hustle you if there is a Pool Table nearby!)

Team Ramrod

Here is Daniel Bryan honoring that tradition with me (after having to hear me on my 'A Game' about work, charity games, pain, and entrepreneurship for 2 hours on a flight lol)

Daniel Bryan Ramroding!

Maybe not an official tradition but I'd like to add this to our guild but with the "G" in place of the "R". The G is one of EASIEST and clearest, and I'm betting FUNNY for our member's interpretations! Next time you are going to do a picture, do a version with the G-Sign!

Tl;dR: Had fun!
