Sweet 16 And Molten Cake - Oh Happy Day.

By: Morigana

Morigana came from a long line of Bright Wizards and from the time she was just a toddler had witnessed the magnificent power that they held. Her great gandfather, her grandfather, her father and 3 uncles were all held in high regard by the council and several of her male cousins were serving in the war flinging fireballs and raining fire upon the enemy. Her grandfather was still an advisor to several generals and her father taught at the Bright Wizard College in Altdorf. If you haven't gotten the picture yet, I shall draw it a little clearer. No woman had ever been a Bright Wizard within her family. After her mother died from the consumption when Morigana was only 8, her father knew that the line of Bright Wizards for the Wyrmbloods was over.

Morigana had spent nearly ever day and every evening at the college with her father. He was much too busy with instructing promising wizards in their craft to stay home with her and with the war efforts his classes and private tutilage took more and more of his time so young Morigana spent very long hours in the college reading and learning. At first she just played games and loved to help put out the small fires young wizards started by accident - and some on purpose. It was all a game and ever so much fun.

But eventually even the fun loving will learn something when exposed to so much education. It wasn't only a college that honed the skills of the Bright Wizard, but taught them about all creatures both good and evil. It taught them diplomacy in working with generals and kings, peasants and farmers, even those that they were in constant conflict with - Dark Elves, GreenSkins, and Chaos. She was most fascinated with the squig herders and shamans since they were ever so small but seemed to wield great power when compared to their size. She also still has nightmares from the first time that she learned about the Chaos Marauders and ther grotesque abnormalities.

On her 16th birthday she was celebrating at the college with several of the young wizards, her father, and even her grand father was making an appearance when the unexpected happened. Her father lit the candles in one of his magnificent fashions with a grand wave of his hands, snap of his fingers, and an orb of pure blue fire began descending just above the cake to burst into 16 tiny spheres and each taking it's place on top of a candle. He bid Morigana to make a wish and blow out the candles....she thought....and she thought....then she took in a deep breath and gave a concentrated "whoosh" of breath at the candles.

It took several seconds for everyone to come the realization of what had just occurred. In stead of the candles being extinguished by a gust of air they were melted into a heaping pile of wax atop the cake. Flame breath.....Morigana had flame breath....her father and grandfather stared at each other and then they both broke out into joyous laughter....the bloodline would continue....Morigana's journey had just truly begun. Oh, the wish - it had come true.
