Encounter In High Pass Part 1

Night had fallen just 2 hours before, and a silent snow was drifting down from the upper reaches of the pass. Fortunately, Kalad was tightly bundled in a sabertooth skin he had bought in the valley 15 miles below.

Cresting a powdery ridge, Kalad slowed his horse to survey the next few miles. With the snow starting to worsen, Kalad began worrying of an unpredicted storm blowing off of the high peaks. The winds of Aqshy were easily seen in the wizard, because although he had such winter clothing on, the air still radiated heat waves and steam.

Kalad's eyes scanned the land, glowing brightly like the dying embers of a once-roaring inferno. Suddenly, slight movement off to his right caught his gaze. A sinister figure lurked just beyond a large outcropping of rock, ready to ambush the unwary. Unbenownst to the hulking (an quite heavily armored) spawn of Chaos, Kalad moved in closer and dismounted.

Now in full view of the large area behind the rock, Kalad realized the truth. A battle was soon to take place. The Chosen of Chaos was preparing to engage a noble High Elf, who had an odd companion: that of a massive lion. Knowing the strength of the forces of Destruction, Kalad called to the White Lion of the High Elves, offering his service...but too late. Just then, the Chosen began his charge with a warcry to Tzeentch the Lord of Change.
