Hello Everyone !

So I am wondering if Star fall prophecy expansion pack is worth getting or not. I see mix reactions to it on the Rift forums and I was wondering if i should get it or not. I know not to based my reasons for getting the game or not off those forums. But i saw a lot of negative reactions when the expansion came out and some of its features promised did not come out. So that is why i am wondering.

I enjoyed Rift when I was playing it and then i stopped and now I am thinking of coming back because of the Telara series that is going to start up in February.

With the Winter sale of steam this is also a good Chance to get the Expansion if it is worth getting

So overall how is the expansion and it is something that I should pick up

How the game population now that the expansion is out

Thanks for the your time !

Sincerely

Lord Melchom

I want to give you some reasons to get the expansion, but the more I think of it, I realized that I don't play much of the new content. I believe only one event on the calendar is specifically for SFP.

Since all of the other content is free to play,  just come back and give it a try.

Hi Lord M.  I have been a Riftaholic since Open Beta.  Yes I have strayed from my first love (Rift) a few times but I keep finding myself back in Telera.  I like SFP.  It has onslaughts from Storm legion which were awesome xp and plat makers, and also Planar Footholds in Xirth Mire.  Crafting is more like storm legion and vanilla as well, more variables, more mats needed and the costs went up, yeah i know, shocked face.  The good news is this guild is very helpful and we have the Guild Marketplace.  SFP also has fragments to enhance your armor/weapon slots.  I think of it kinda like lotto when i upgrade one of those as i don't always know what secondary ability i will get.  So my rogue now has a little spell power...hmm...fail. hehee

Rift forums has a lot of haters that apparently don't hate the game enough to stop talking about it.  I have seen the same names over and over griping about whatever trion puts out.  They very well could hate puppies, kitties and cookies too for all i know.  (heehee)

So, i find SFP worth it.  i like the additional content.  I am not much of a raider, but i like running around while things try to kill me while i harvest, butcher, and mine nodes.

I am still free to play. Can't afford any more for any of my games.  I can still play with the group and have fun. It is just a choice of how much are you going to play. A real personal choice.  I really like the intrepid adventures.

I'd add in that if you do like it, but not enough to buy the xpac, start saving up some cash.  Group activities (especially IAs) are a huge source of wealth at 65, and you can save up a ridiculous amount of tokens to turn in for massive coin to buy up 'REX' or the SFP tradable.  It takes some time, but you can really make progress fairly quickly with those turn ins.  (They are something like 4-5 platinum each, and you will have a dozen or more each few hour event.)

Without fail the truth will come out.  We know!

You can stop licking your fingers.  The signs that you ate our smores are all over your face.

I could probably live without the "Content" part of the expansion, but all the other extras are soooooo useful. The little fragments, the gear (even greens) dwarf anything in the game before SP. The new Instant Adventures are fun. Looking forward to the Fortress.

The sad news is right as I turned 60+ to go back to Conquesting they removed it. For how long I don't know. Bah. Theres a lot of reasons to get the EXP pack and a lot of fun to be had. The last 3 weeks of the Telara Saga will require it.

I think SFP has been worth it. I like the zone design better this time around than I did in Nightmare Tide. I actually enjoy leveling and the quest writing has been stellar this time around. I really cared about getting to the end of each zones story and helping out the NPCs, especially in Gedlo. I love how they implemented Kobolds.

You'll see folks online complaining that the content is short for an Xpac and that is a bit true. I used XP vials I had sitting around in the bank to help level and was 70 before the last zone. But I've heard others say that they did everything without any boosts and weren't level capped yet. So Your Mileage May Vary.

But as others have pointed out you can do a LOT of playing with the Guild as a F2P player. So there's no cost to try that part out.

Hope to see you in Telara!
