Just curious if anyone else here is part of the M&B series player base and also getting excited a little seeing what they are doing/trying to do.
For those that aren't in the know: M&B is a medieval style battle simulator with some extra stuff thrown in. The community involved has done a LOT of modding, resulting in some very interesting adaptations. While there are no true sequels yet, M&B Warband was a mostly visual update, and Napoleonic Wars gave a slightly different flavor with guns added (primitive guns, ya know!)
Well, M&B 2 has some blogs about development and what they are doing up. A few things: A new and smoother UI for things like inventory, advanced character models using full skeleton and facial expressions as they go about life, and a little about some of the changes in how things work. There's talk of more advanced siege systems, including more access options and points, and of how all that will work. There's a screenie of one of the taverns, nicely more complex and atmospheric than previously seen, along with getting into the 'people have a life even if they aren't you' aspect of things. Also, in terms of modding, the game looks very promising... with the company actually using and designing an advanced editing tool as they go.
