Has anyone played Day Z? I know it's just a public alpha, but it looks so good. I love The Walking Dead, and this game looks really immersive.

I've watched a few streams, but I don't want to purchase the alpha cause I don't have the time, or interest, to support the style of game it is. I don't enjoy post-apocalyptic games, as well as it is in alpha, so it's not a full game yet.
That said, I think it has the potential to be a fantastic game from what I've watched. But it also has the potential to be a game that is filled with trolls, because when you die, you lose everything, and have to start from scratch. Get a bunch of people who like making life hard, and you can easily ruin the game for a solo player, or even smaller groups.
I'd say look up some of the livestreams on twitch, see if it's your cup of tea
I have played a decent amount. The game itself is really great. Everytime you log onto the game you must click the disclaimer that it is in alpha. To be honest the game is pretty complete as far as general things. So far the only problems I've had is falling through walls and stairs and other things to my death. The zombie spawning is a little wacky at times too. Me and my friend have already had a ton of fun with it, so I recommend it, just be wary. There are bugs.
I actually bought this a week or so ago to play with a few buddies, I installed it but haven't played it yet, if anyone is interested my SteamID is http://steamcommunity.com/id/jsl1ce/
I have it too, it's a lot of fun but quite time consuming since whenever you want to move from 1 side of the map to the other you need to have quite a few hours ahead of you to loot and watch out for other players. I like to play the hero style which consist in helping people in need, but you can never be too cautious when approaching other players. Add me aswell if you would like to play ;) http://steamcommunity.com/id/KooZ
I got it as well, and I have to admit I am having so much fun, despite my earlier post. I'm definitely hero style, but I don't hesitate to shoot. If you haven't joined the steam group, let me know and I'll get you added =)
If you hop on a server and see "Gargamel" on the people list, that's me.
EDIT: Changed my name to Gargamel instead of MacFearsome cause I run around with his accent "hunting smurfs" lol. It keeps me alive to act like a crazy person, instead of playing like a regular dude.

If you like Dayz yer probably really going to like H1Z1 , http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/04/19/h1z1-footage-shows-that-yep-it-looks-a-lot-like-dayz/
Dayz is what 64 player , well how about playing with thousands of people across a massive landscape?
This is about the only zombie survival game not on my wishlist just now. I'm not so interested in the open PvP games usually. Maybe a fully coop server would interest me if there were one.
