LOTRO: Sekkerhund's Project - Landroval server (updated 12/3/2015)

Quick post:  As I stated in my SWTOR thread, LOTRO is another game that I have a Waelwulfas skeleton structure established in, which means it will be available for my "a Gathering of Family" side-game unification project.

I've opened my doors to the Family, so anyone and everyone is welcome to join.  I'll set invite permissions for everyone, please treat it just as you would a GSCH guild.

Server transfers are open for me on Brandywine (unexpected, but fortunate), so I am transferring everything to Landroval.

I have everything moved and re-established now on Landroval server.  I also bought a dwarven Kinship house in Thorin's Gate housing area:

ive never been past the first zone in lotro, i always meant to but im too spoiled by newer games to go back to older mmos alot of the time x.x

I played Lotro for a while, mostly pre 2015. I stopped a little after they introduced the beorning class/race. Highest level is an 80 captain. It's a fun game. My main server was Landroval, the unofficial rp server NA-side. I started out on Brandywine way back in 2009 I believe it was, back when they were still sub-based and Moria had just released. It's a game I played with my sister and her hubby most.

It is a great game, but one I quit because everyone I know quit. For a long time I would log back in for festivals, but it got lonely again. Heck, the guild house we had on Landroval might still have maintenance on it, I'm not sure.

I mostly log on to do the Festivals, but LOTRO is another one of "those games" that I tell myself I will return to and finish... but, there's always that new shiny that I get distracted on.  :\

Anyway, I was looking for a start date for their Harvestmath festival, saw the transfers are going on right now, so decided I'd better quickly make a post. 

These aren't really games that we have family members "actively" playing, but I don't really care about that right now.  My priority is trying to to give the inactive/semi-active folks a choice to find a common home with other family members, and then we can tackle the task of arranging "play dates" with other family members, afterwards.

Pending my "master plan" post, here's a brief summary:

• I am trying to organize GSCH family players for our various "side games" under a consolidated structure.
• The goal is to make it easier for family members to find each other in our non-Chapter games.
• There has always been a need, and I've found that its increasing as more and more MMO games pop up. 
• While we've tried some things in the past (Saighdear), I am hoping to build on the successes that we had and remove the points of failures
• The goal is for this community project to be similar in basic concept to the old "Saighdear project", but its using my brand and will be parallel to GSCH, not connected (GSCH brand protections).

This will require baby steps, and step #1 for me is to open a door and place out a welcome mat, place a candle in the window, peach pie in the oven, etc. etc.

Tonight as I was logging in to check on the Fall Festival status, I noticed that I have a Transfer button available.  It appears that I have a transfer option available from Brandywine to one of the other servers... and Free.

So I want to put this on hold for now, until I can determine if I am able to transfer to Landroval, since that seems to be the "RP server" and what would benefit the family more, and what the consequences might be if I move all my stuff over.

Normally, I wouldn't do something like this, just in case people are trying to, or have, transferred to Brandywine, but it seems that transfers to Brandywine are currently blocked, so no one can transfer here anyway.  If they allow me to transfer off (and it seems I can), then it makes more sense for me to do that.

sorry to necro this thread. But is there still a few playing on Landroval?

Interesting.. I really wanted to play this alot but there are somethings that newer games have spoiled me on. I was hoping that Everquest Next would be that game that would be EQ/LOTRO but with a new look and a bit more freedom of movement. I'm guessing it might not happen with what happened with Sony. I really hope turbine can pull something together for a newer game. I've always liked their games.

Just before Turkey Day, I bought a guild hall in Thorin's Gate, a nice snowy christmas-y looking one that I've wanted for several years, and paid that up through next summer, but I haven't really been back on, mostly due to just being busy.

I really need to finish LOTRO.  It is one of a couple of "Lifetime Access" games that I own (including Champions Online and The Secret World.), and I really should get caught up to current content in those.

For folks wanting to contact me about these games, I'm trying to log into Gamevox more, to be available for messaging, even if I'm not wearing my headset.

I started another couple of characters today they need a home if you have a guild up? lol

LOTRO is game, which I return from time to time. I have played a lot sort of single-player content, but not so much group content. have to check where my characters are currently.

@Izzy:  I do.  Waelwulfas is a level 10 guild.  It's a guild that I've had for... well, a very long time here in LOTRO, although its mostly myself atm.  You are most welcome to sit your characters next to my cozy Kinship fireplace.

Landroval is an excellent server full of excellent people. (At least back when I played)

Watch for the LOTRO "Quad Pack" (which includes the expansions for Moria, Mirkwood, Isengard, and Rohan) to go on sale on Steam over the holiday. I just picked it up during the Autumn sale for $9.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/258800/

Landroval is a good choice, and is an awesome server. One kinship that I have belonged to since 2011 (that I don't do much with anymore), is the Lonely Mountain Band. They are a bunch of helpful awesome people who really get into the RP side of the game. They have a concert type thing each Monday night (or at least, they used to), and they have 2 really big events they throw each year (Winterstock is coming up in January, and they have Weatherstock sometime in the Spring/Summer). The music system in this game is pretty awesome.

I may have to hop into the game every now and then.
