Best fix I've fround for Turtlebeach headphones is to never buy turtlebeach headphones. I've gone through 5 of them in one year, my roomate has gotten 4 broken ones right out of the box in a row.
I've had this one pair of Sennheiser's for the past 2 years now, still works great and it's been dropped multiple times.

I have the PX21 headset and have not experienced any issues so far. Here is a general troubleshoot page with several suggestions. Are you getting feedback from desktop speakers or are you just using your headset solely?
I know you'd like to fix your current headset, but in the event you find yourself in the market for another, I am very happy with my SoundBlaster Tactic Omega 3D (really long name for the headset, and I'm sure I have it wrong somewhere but it's not with me at the moment to check). Wireless, great sound quality, no connectivity issues. Also works cross-platform (PC, MAC, XBOX, PS3).
