Hi all.

I've completed my first survey, thanks again to all who participated! Based on the results, I've re-evaluated some of my events, and as the calendar already shows, I've added some new ones, all based on your suggestions! Thanks again for all the support!

Rules

I'm going to post some rules for my events to help things go a little easier, and so everyone has a better idea of what to expect. A huge "Thank you" to Jessica for showing me how effective this could be.

1. I welcome questions about the game, the only stupid question is the one not asked.

2. Roleplaying is always encouraged. Moving forward, I'll tend to "slip into character" a bit more often. You'll also see this reflected in the event posting(s)!

3. I try to be casual friendly, and have 2 pc's going during events, so bear with me if things are going slow - sometimes i'm double-checking.

4. If you have suggestions for something I could be doing better, an event you want to be held, etc., please LET ME KNOW - if you don't ask, i can't plan!

5. If you do not like doing puzzles, etc please be patient. for these types of events, i do ask for mesmers to be present so that we can portal people who cannot jump (like me).

6. At the start of the event, please let me know when you are in the raidcall channel! I do more communication via raidcall than by text during events, so knowing early that most of you are in channel and can hear me will let me get started faster.

7. For Slayer Title Events - RSVP is required - especially for the Killer Ollmhór! Some of the farming we will be doing depends on the number of people in the area, so the sooner i have an idea of how big the group will be, the easier it will be to plan. If i don't have a minimum of 5 rsvp's at least 24 hours before the event, i may have to cancel the event at the last minute or the day of!

8. For contribution events, I do ask that at the end of the event, you fill at least 1 request from our family craftsmen. This is not a requirement, but it will help our craftsmen, and was a big part of why this event type was created.

9. There will be more rules added for WvW when the time comes, but for now that's it.

Event Types:

Along with the new events, I've created a naming system so that when you see an event, you'll know what type of event it is....and i wanted something other than "map complete through orr", or "gathering zerg", etc.... The exception will be living world events and events for monthly achievements, with will vary. My Naming system is as follows:

Event Name Type of event Frequency of event Length Music Style
Meitheal trí Map Complete montlhy 2-3 hours TBD
Fómhar de Harvesting Zerg monthly 2-3 hours Techno/trance
Seachránaí é' Monthly Achievements monthly 1-2 hours TBD
Fiach Slayer Title & Contribution Advancement monthly 1-2 hours TBD
Killer Ollmhór Giant Title Track monthly 2 hours TBD
Excavation Mini-Dungeon as needed/by request 2-3 hours TBD
Parkour Course Jumping Puzzles as needed/by request 2-3 hours TBD
Echtra i Diving Master as needed/by request 1-2 hours TBD
Home Guard WvW  in Planning  3 hours Metal
Headbanger's Ball WvW Jumping Puzzle in Planning 3 hours TBD
Living World Bi-Weekly 2-3 hours TBD

As you can see, There are a lot of events that i can run. Starting out, I will run Living World events primarily on Saturday, with min-dungeons, jumping puzzles and diving master events during the week until I've covered all the zones & achievements. Then i will return to my map complete and harvesting events, and run the others either by request or quarterly. This is all subject to change, and I don't want to take time away from all our other great leaders!

I am planning some WvW events, but I've discovered there is a lot to learn about WvW, so please be patient - it is coming!

Roleplay (or Character Chat):

(A huge thanks to Ragmar for this)! During my events, Feel free to have "in character" chat over vent. Your conversations will go a long way to bringing your character to life. This is also one of the most useful tools i have when describing your character, or their actions. I'm uncomfortable writing about another player's character taking action or making a statement when I only have my imagination to draw on. I also think it's one of the best kinds of interaction in game. I'm not asking for everything to be "in character , but every so often, it can really help, (and sooner or later, you will probably see it recounted in legend ;) ).

Event Recaps:

I will do my best to post recaps for most of my events. For the most part, they will be "in-character" recaps, told from the perspective of Kilashandra, (or whichever character i'm leading with). In some cases, i'll throw a "shout-out" to something that happened during the event, or a specific character.  If something I've written doesn't fit your background for the character, or your feelings about the character event, please email me, what I write is not meant to attack anyone, spread rumor, offend, or anything along those lines. I want the recap to be a fun read, or short story of the adventure, as told by the great and legendary norn who witnessed and lived through the events. Only the facts that show the guilt of the event leader will be changed.....

Music

I have also figured out how to dj through raidcall, (with a huge thank you to Foxy!), so I hope to have music during most of my events. Now, i have a *very* eclectic taste in music, and my collection spans the globe. I will happily take requests - it gives me the ability to expand my musical horizons! I'm working on how best to do this, for now, look for a post such as "Killer Ollmhór music request thread" here in the tavern. I will do my best to fulfill all requests that are made early, multiple requests will be done in order or posting i at a time. To clarify, if i have 3 posts with four requests each, i will take the top request from each of the 4 posts, and repeat until i've gotten though all requests, or the event ends, (mixing in some of my own of course).  Please let me know if i need to filter my selections for minors.

General:

Contribution events are designed with family crafters in mind. I've seen the marketplace listings, and for some of the items, they are hard/boring to solo farm. By mixing this in with achieving title tracks, i hope to create an event that is fun for players, that also helps the family. Also, the cap for crafting will be raised to 500, with the next tier of mats being composed of lower-tier items. This event, along with the harvesting events, should give craftsmen the head-start they need to be ready when this goes live.

Next week (the week of Aug. 5th, will be an "inauguration week" Almost all of the events I have scheduled are new types for me to run. I'm going to ask that you please be patient, this is a first-run, and i'll be making adjustments "on the fly", seeing what works, and what doesn't work.

I hope this post wasn't too long, and that you are as excited as I am for the events next week!.

See you in-game,

K.
