I already know that I am going Destro / Resto staves.
I am thinking that I will be wearing 5 Light / 2 Heavy or 7 Light armor.
What is the best race for this type of build? I plan on AOE grinding to level up along with running in AvA events.
Altmer? Dunmer? Breton?
Not sure which to pick and I typically do not play a healer in any MMO. However, the way I look at it is that how am I ever going to at least get good at it if I don't try it.
Probably doesn't matter too much. Breton or Altmer will boost output the most. However, it being AvA, pure healing numbers do not mean much if you melt. You can be just as effective with a race that boosts health and mitigates damage, such as Nords.
In the end, it probably doesn't matter too much. You will gain most of your effectiveness via the stat boosts on your equipment and how you designate your points. With it being very easy to overcharge, racials in weaker areas actually provide more boost than in your strengths.
I rock Breton on my ava healing templar and I think its great : )
My Templar is Breton, but tbh it was a choice of aesthetics, because while goofing around making bag mules, I'd messed with a Breton on a whim and developed a female look that I really, really liked. I didn't even consider racial bonuses, I just decided to use it for my Templar because it pleased me.
think jairone hti the mark, it all depends how you want to play it.... if you thinking back line putting down tons of heals, Breton and altmer have magika boost that can be helpful.. if you want to be a frontline healer some of the class that boost health regen can be very helpful...
I myself ran a Breton as my healer and I like it a lot, even thoug I change my play style quite often, I still manage to get most of my soft cap with ease....
I would lean towards the Breton as well due to the magic buffs if nothing else.
