Blood Fills the Horizon as Season 3 Approaches
Over the first two seasons of Battle for Badlands the battle has mostly been one sided. The Destruction forces have felt left out and clueless as to when the event is taking place. To remedy this issue we have decided to make this event more social. Before each event players from both sides can log into a shared Ventrilo Server and Socialize while the forces get set up. We will have players on both sides promoting the event several days before it occurs and on the night of the event. Once the event begins passwords for the protected channels Order and Destruction channels will be given out to each side over region 1 to prevent any cross-realming. This will allow members of both sides to participate and coordinate their forces efficiently while being able to have some fun discussions with players of the opposite side before and after the event.
In our refocusing of Battle for Badlands we have decided that Tier 4 is simply too unpredictable with city battles taking place several times before the event. For Season 3 all battles will fought in Tier 2 and Tier 3. We hope that this will help spawn some friendly competition and serve as fun event for the lower tiers.
An additional feature this year is the ability to register via the Battle for Badlands website. By registering to the site you will be able to claim your participation each week building your Warrior score and competing via the Top Warriors Leaderboard. Players who wish to lead the nights activities can sign up in advance to Lead Warbands on behalf of their side. Each week 1 Warlord can sign up to lead the nights festivities. They will be in charge of promoting the event, forming warbands, and organizing the warforce. Each objective taken during the nights activities will build their Warlord score which will allow them to climb to the rank of Top Warlord. Guilds that participate will receive a guild page on the site which lists all their registered participants and their total points earned as a guild. A Top Guilds leaderboard will be available showing the guilds with the most points in participation and leadership.
Why should we care about points? At the end of Season 3 the Top Warlord will receive 100 Gold, Top Warrior will receive 50 Gold, and the Top Guild will receive a full promotional page with a screenshot of their crew and a full write-up provided by them for recruiting new members. Their guild will also be listed on the Champions of Badlands page for all the battles to come.
Lastly, this season Destruction will have a special guest leading their warforce for a few of the events. Erdhgad and a few of his top warlords have been seen roaming the wastelands of Nordland on his way into the Tier 2 battlefield. Many may know their counterparts as Daghdre (Erdhgad), Donaliam (Mailanod), Doctorfixit, Morttech (Mortgut), Blocked, and Clanorton. To try to spur some pretty epic battles we have come to provide some assistance to the Destruction side and see if we can help unite the forces of Destruction in battle and leave a trail of corpses in our path. Keep an eye out for the Gaiscioch na Sreng on the Destruction side of the ball. Mythic is aware of our presence and it will be purely to balance the playing field and make some more epic battles for both sides enjoyment. Our focus for this season is to keep the games fun for all and help build a stronger Badlands community in the process.
