May brings good news but not out of the woods yet.My professional life had some good news this month. This upcoming month I'm finally able to bring my staff back on full time. This is great news as I will be running at full steam again. In addition, my CEO gave me a call to let me know they were restoring my salary back to where it was pre-covid. Guardians (Seaimpín)The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family. This month has been full of ups and downs. We saw Amazon's Lord of the Rings MMO fall due to business negotiations gone wrong. But we also saw a whole slew of new opportunities arrive for several games in beta. In addition, there were a few new MMOs announced that are worth a glance. Even if some have questionable names.
Get Ready for a Summer of Adventure!
This summer is shaping up to be a very adventure-heavy season. Our main chapters are gaining the new expansions (GW2: End of Dragons, ESO: Blackreach, WOWC: Burning Crusade) and a wealth of new adventures are arriving both in alpha/beta testing and full release. Between summer and fall, we will see the launch of New World, Elyon, Bless Unleashed, Magic Legends, and Gatewalkers to name a few.
Sad News for Amazon's Lord of the Rings MMO
It seems that in the end, Sauron won. Before the game could even show its first trailer backroom business decisions killed this hot upcoming MMORPG. You may have remembered back in the fall of last year when Tencent bought Athlon Games parent studio Leyou Technologies, owner of Warframe developer Digital Extremes. Well following that buyout, negotiations between Amazon and Tencent fell through and Amazon decided to scrap the project.
Beta, Beta, Beta, Alpha! Alpha!
This month things are poppin off in the MMO scene. We've got a whole slew of Beta and Alphas coming our way to partake in. This might not be a very a good few months for your gamer ADHD because there's a lot to get distracted with. But at least we won't get bored!
