Cead Mile Failte!

As The 15 Year Mark Approaches

We inch closer to November 11th I have been looking at where we are today as compared to where we began. What a journey we have had, looking back on 15 years of epic adventures. We had our days of roleplay and storytelling. We shared glorious battles as we discovered our first taste of RvR. Life was good, but then I found my first humbling lesson. Then it all came tumbling down because I trusted the wrong people with the keys of the castle.

A few years of soul searching and life upheaval lead me back to Spence and Jeff who pulled me out of my funk and with the help of Don and Juliana put me back up on the horse to lead once again. With the right people supporting my vision we saw the family bloom. In Warhammer Online we forged a legacy and built a new foundation to grow upon.

Then RIFT came, and we really got pushed to our limits. We saw unprecedented growth and had to create many new systems and procedures to help keep the family moving forward. From the days of RIFT to now we've grown our footing and have found what works and what doesn't.

The family today has evolved from what it once was. While MMORPG's aren't providing the experience we're used to and many of the new games people want to play do not support communities like ours we've found a way to make it all work. We've evolved from a guild in a game, to a community that plays games together. This evolution wasn't instant and is still continuing to happen.

We have grown to be recognized as a member of the media with our Gaiscioch Magazine, have been recognized and supported by developers through our Gaiscioch Livestreams, and have explored lands far beyond our chapter focus with the Gaiscioch Social Adventures.

While the next chapter is nowhere in sight, I am confident that our direction to become an out of game community that plays games together will endure the test of time and while we begin to look back and celebrate 15 years of friendship, memories, and epic adventures, someday I'll be writing looking back at 20 years. I am confident that over the next 5 to 10 years we will continue to keep our course and be a community of friends and family that goes beyond the game.

I am very blessed to be able to share these past 15 years with all of you. Some of you have come and gone and still read my silly ol' newsletters, while others are still involved today. It's players like Nona, Prissy, Pops, and Oldgoat that keep me going and make me realize this is so much more than just a gaming community. This is a family and we should cherish our time together. Whether we're playing a game together, or hanging out talking to each other, our time together is special. I look forward to sharing many more adventures and memories with all of you.

Gaiscioch Family News

Gaiscioch Family Promotions:

I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.

War Council (Tiarna)

The War Council is comprised of members who have stepped up to lead events and activities for the family. They have proven themselves on the battlefield and have collected 25 signatures of approval from their followers. They have accepted the Mark of Servitude credo and understand that Leadership is not a position of power, it is a position of service. They have committed themselves to hosting fun and friendly events for the community at large.

  » Namrie

Guardians (Seaimpín)

The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

  » Aerane   » Maligor

Veteran Members (Curadh)

Veteran Members have proven their devotion to the family by participating in events and contributing to the family's success. They have been active more than 90 days and have continued to be contributing members to the family.

  » RowenaJ

Official Members (Lorgaire)

Official Members have earned the rank of Lorgaire and have accepted the Mark of the Kindred credo. They have officially decided to become members of the family and start their journey to ascend the roles of the Gaiscioch Family.

Guild Wars 2 News

Living World Season 2

I haven't seen a launch day for part 2 of the living world season 3, however I suspect sometime around PAX West we will hear about it and maybe another surprise announcement. Guild Wars 2 is celebrating 4 years this year at PAX West and I have a feeling they might have an announcement up their sleeve. Perhaps they will finally introduce the legendary dragon Foghladha that knocks everyone off cliffs! Muahahahaha! Ok maybe he didn't make the cut.

Elder Scrolls Online News

One Tamriel Nears The Horizon

A lot of information about One Tamriel was announced over the past month. This is the first major free dlc that available to everyone. This DLC will allow any member of any faction to group together to quest, dungeon, raid, and explore any zone in the game at any time. It introduces a new bolstering system that makes any zone your level. Allowing you to explore the content you want to explore and skip the areas you're not interested in.

What does this mean for the family? Ebonheart will only be our warring faction. You can play any faction and join us for PvE activities. Our events will no longer require you to be a certain level to attend. New and Old players can join forces and explore the lands. This should open the door for many new fun activities.

Social Adventures News

Black Desert Online

Manager: Izmina

This past month we migrated most of our most active players to our Tuatha kin Relic for Black Desert. They will still be using the site and claiming participation but flying under the Relic flag from here on out. Those that chose to stay with GSCH understand that it will not be an actively run guild. Izmina has taken over to keep invites available to those that want them. If you're looking for a very active guild experience be sure to contact the guys over at Relic and they will help you get connected. Ludoki and Isha are both over there so either one of them can put you in touch with the proper people.

Black Desert Online is a wonderful game, however it requires a whole lot of commitment from a guild and especially the leader of a guild. It is not a game you can play part time effectively and requires daily logins and usually 6+ hours of being online for the guild leader to keep things moving forward. In the end this just wasn't a game that fit our lifestyle. Relic is entirely committed to the game and are a long time ally of ours. I highly recommend joining them if you wish to see all the game has to offer.

Gaiscioch Magazine News

Pre-Registration (Beta) for Magazine Site

Calling all Gaiscioch Members! I am currently looking for people to help me test out the account registration / login side of the Gaiscioch Magazine & Livestreams site. There are 2 ways to go about linking your account to your profile.

The Easy Way:

  1. Go to
  2. Using the Login section use your login information. (Email or Username will work.)

This will automatically create you a Gaiscioch Magazine account based on your information and link your account to your other account to display your community progress in areas to come.

The More Complicated Way

  1. Go to
  2. Register a new account
  3. Confirm your email account and validate your new account.
  4. Click on "My Account" in the top right.
  5. Click on "Connections"
  6. Fill in your Gaiscioch Login information.

I highly recommend you do the first option as it is way easier. Why should you register? I am giving Gaiscioch members the first crack at Handles. Once I launch this wide, if your name is Awesome, and some new member registers Awesome, you won't be able to use Awesome as your name.

In addition you can also start earning exp, levels, and accrue credits to use in the Magazine treasure trove. Once I plug in the weekly raffles you'll be among the first to win prizes. I've personally stocked the Magazine Treasure trove with over 300 games which can be purchased either on the site using Family Vault Credits or on the Magazine Site using credits. Each site has it's own cost.

The Loot Vault & Gaiscioch Magazine Treasure Trove

I wanted to clarify how things work so that you know where your donation is going. Some of you have donated games to the Gaiscioch Loot Vault for Gaiscioch Members. All of those games are only available to Gaiscioch Members through If you would like me to toggle them onto the Treasure Trove for the magazine site let me know and I can enable it.

In the future, I plan to make a toggle to allow keys to go to Gaiscioch Magazine after 60 days when they are added to the site. However legacy keys will not. They will remain only unless specified by the user that added them. I wanted to make this clear as I did not want to upset anyone by offering keys they donated to random non-gaiscioch members. All of the keys I purchased (I usually buy 2-4 bundles a month to add to the site), will immediately be available as will any keys we receive for future betas and alpha giveaways.
