Trion using Gaiscioch name to lure people back?

Just got an email from Trion trying to lure me back to Rift.

The subject was "Gaiscioch needs you back!".

The first paragraph of the body said "Gaiscioch has been busy hunting rifts and stamping out invasions while you've been gone, but the forces of the planes never rest. The ancient Architects are hard at work in the Dendrome, plotting the doom of this plane and others. Rejoin your guildmates and help Gaiscioch prepare for all that lies ahead!"

If their use of the guild name was not authorized, I thought you'd like to know about this email.

My guess is that they place the last guild you had above your head the last time you logged in. You likely never logged in after we renamed it Saighdear.

I got one as well I got the Gaiscioch version and Fog right I have not logged back in since the guild name was changed.

What I also find funny is my account is still open until Oct but the email makes it sound I need to resub.

no resubbing necessary since it went F2P. My family and I have come back recently and it's been a nice casual existence, although I miss the guild conversations.

Trion didn't have to send me an email to lure me back...

I returned to Rift a few months ago, and brought my son.  However, he and I have lost much faction with my wife.  lol.  But we are having a good time.

I'd never seen Storm Legion content until now.  It's a breath of fresh air to me.   I'm only lvl 51.

It's also nice being able to make 24 slot bags.  Goodbye 14 slot!

I had to stop playing during last summer but aside from that I've been in game virtually every day over the last two years. Storm Legion is awesome and I love the F2P. Best thing ever imho and I've played a few other F2P games that were just ridiculously expensive. Not Rift. I feel they've done it right. I've seen scores of random chat comments about people missing Gaiscioch's public events and why the guild left Rift just before the game became even better... it makes me sad. Whether those emails you got are phishing scams or not, I don't know, but we ARE missed on Faeblight.
